Honor Amongst Thieves (H.A.T.) was a punk rock band started by high school friends, Walt Lontkowski (The Hamburgers, Caution to the Wind, Obvious Man Hands, Walt Lontkowski & His Imaginary Friends) and Brian Giebisch (Screwballs, Grandpas Guitars, Get Back Gordon). They joined forces with Fox Valley punk veteran Aaron Neumann (Lugnut) and Kewaunee native John Wallace (Punk Factor, Beast Barter System). HAT enjoyed success in the Fox Valley in the early 2000s and were made famous by their legendary trailer of doom and van fire which burned all of the group's equipment. After a year or so, the band parted ways with Brian and performed as a power trio for a few months. Following that, Aaron felt the stress of local music was too much for him, and the band added Tess and Bobby returning to a 4 piece. This became noteworthy as it added an upright bass to the band's sound. The band decided to stop playing shows in late 2003/early 2004. They have played a few reunion shows, but none since the summer of 2004 which was cut short by police.

The band released a few recordings in their brief tenure. An untitled demo recorded in New London, WI was released early on. Then the band released the 7-10 Split with their friends, The Rumours, in 2003. These records were both recorded by the original members. In either late 2003 or early 2004, HAT recorded 4 tracks at the now-defunct Simple Studios in Green Bay, WI with the infamous Justin Perkins. These were recorded with Tess and Bobby as well as some help from Eric Siercks, Emma Young, and a few other Lawrence University string musicians. These were released on the band's greatest hits collection entitled, Greatest H.A.T.'s. P.U.F.F., Dubya, Holy Schlitz! How 'bout a Blatz from the Pabst?, and After were regarded as the band's most popular and most professional recording, although the band's cult following in cities like Manitowoc, Fond du Lac, and Kewaunee was fueled by the band's early electrifying live performances.

The first band signed to My Brother Stole My Records, H.A.T was featured in articles in the Appleton Post Crescent, Oshkosh Northwestern, and the Green Bay Chronicle.
