I'm in a music server on discord and every Monday we get a prompt and 24 hours to create a song for a listening party on Tuesday. The prompt this week was........ supernova! 

I started with a piano chord progression that I later sung as the intro and then I thought I wanted to try to make another bass heavy song so I worked on creating a couple bass lines. Once I had the intro and bass section done I recorded some of the lyrics and decided that it might sound nice with some organic viola in the beginning before it gets all heavy and electronic.

After I was done recording the viola and more vocals I started playing around with adding effects to my vocals like distortion. I hadn't really added distortion to my viola before so flipped through presets until I found the right crunchy sound that didn't make it too piercing and harsh. I'm really happy with how it turned out, it's not a sound I usually create so I might experiment with it more.
