Yeah, I've sort of been in a weird rut of not making any music at all. A close friend of mine and I are starting a new project with videogames and I felt a desire to try my hand at some little demos for a soundtrack and I came back here. How are you?

The distance between the messages gets to me.
Even though you can't see me,
Know that I am right here,
And I don't want to hurt you.

I want to be your blanket.
When you're scared, you can run to me and hide beneath the sheets.
Too far away to feel your hands,
Though I've traced them in my sleep.

I know everything is harder without family,

Though the distance is hard on me.

Just try not to squeeze too hard, and also not to pull away,
There's a balance to remember.
Trust yourself and trust each other.

Level Up

Another Music Weeklies submission.  This one is for the "Random Samples" theme where we were given a collection of random public domain samples to turn into music.  (This song has lyrics but I couldn't record them because that wouldn't be one of the samples.)  It's channeling a bit of the 80s kid in me.

The mix is not great but I'm out of time.  The drums are way too "scooped" at the moment... but it is what it is.

Turnabout(Feel For You)

This Music Weeklies #ChainedTogether challenge entry is a team-up with @trommelfell-mb.  I started the ball rolling with a jazzy piece that he had to take unmodified and continue.  Turned out pretty well, in the end.

For my own part, I was using it as an excuse to work on jazz piano voicings as I've been spending most of the last few years on guitar and the piano skills have suffered.  It was important to me to play the piano parts without cut-pasting... so it took me probably 100 tries.  I think my family was worried I'd had a stroke or something.
