These drums are just the Amen break, no additional sample layering.  I am performing multiband processing on them using various SPICE circuit models to restore transient punch lost in pitch transposition and to add some overdriven crunch while maintaining crispness. Band isolation is occurring through a combination of modified Tubescreamer pedals ( with different capacitors acting as high and low pass filters ) and passive Pultec filtering.  Additionally some classic analog synth filters are being used to enhance kick punch and create some stereo width via offset filter cutoff modulation.
