We’re very excited to announce we have Space Terrace legend, Viva Warriors kingpin & all round DJ royalty Steve Lawler playing at Aynsley Mill!

Certain DJ have had a big impact on Stoke on Trent & none more than the mighty Steve Lawler!

Steve was a legend here in Stoke as far back as his Golden masterclass gigs at The Void where he cemented himself as one of the biggest UK DJs, then went on to become an absolute hero in Ibiza in the naughties by making the Space Terrace his own for years and thus becoming a huge worldwide guest DJ in every territory.

After this, his label Viva Music and his club events Viva Warriors became the go to brands for the quality sounds that everyone was clambering after and his labels music and club events came with the gold seal of approval.

Still with a heavy global touring schedule, we’re lucky to get Steve to fit us in his diary for a party this summer that should be one of the most exciting parties in Stoke this year!

Aztechnology - The Sounds Of A Mixologist (Part 2)

I'm not one for massive social media posts but sometimes certain things warrant one and this definitely does! 

My journey with The Move started over a decade ago a fresh faced 18 year old raver who saw himself as a bit of a DJ... 😂 My first experience came from the dancefloor and that's how it stayed for many years it gave me some of the best nights of my life and definitely pushed me on with my music! 

Fast forward a few years and after DJ'ing out locally on many different events an opportunity to take over the Room2 residency at The Move came about, of course being the young & hungry DJ I was saying no just wasn't an option and that was the moment I went from the dancefloor to becoming a resident. Alongside Mark & Marv we absolutely destroyed that box room in the mill on a monthly basis if you know you know kinda vibe... 😉 8 years later I'm still a resident I've seen many raving faces come and ago, I've seen the scene and music change however one thing that's always stayed the same is the vibe it's always been second to none! 

As soon as I heard about a special one off event remembering 12 years of Move classics I just had to be involved. What an honour it is to dig deep bringing back all those tunes and remembering some of the most legendary night’s experienced over the last decade in Stoke on Trent... ❤️

Easter Saturday is the date, The Sugarmaill is the venue, the tickets are below and to get you all in the mood I've dug deep to put this mix together its strictly Move Classics only... 🙌🏼 I don't think I've put a track in there past 2014 expect plenty more of these bombs on the night!!! 🔥

X5 Dubs

Like most dance music producers from the Midlands, the hallmark of bassline/4x4 is evident in X5 Dubs' music. Before rising to prominence in underground house, the Wolverhampton-based beatsmith was gracing labels like Marcus Nasty’s We R Bass with the type of dancefloor pressure steeped in Northern, Niche-inspired bounce. X5 Dubs could easily build a career on up-tempo bubblers and chilled rollers, but it’s his penchant for muscular show-stoppers that has been getting him most of the plaudits. With tracks on HER, MFR, Recess Recordings and Eastside Records, seemingly churns out warehouse workouts every week, with a sizeable amount of them ending up as free downloads on his SoundCloud. Being able to balance the delicate with the dangerous is one of X5’s key strengths as a producer, as is his ability to pull samples from the most unexpected of places and completely switch it up. A technically skilled DJ and superior talent in the scene, we’re expecting X5 Dubs to terrorise clubs with his shuddering bass-house jams deep into next year, and the year after that…

Growing up with a rich musical heritage it was almost destined that Aaron better known as Aztec would be involved in the music scene one day. An open lover of many different styles it’s Dance Music that’s always been closest to his heart, As a child he’d find himself having countless hours of joy listening to his parents cassette tapes. Being Dance Music lovers themselves he was exposed to everything the 90’s rave scene had to offer and It was these sounds that helped pave the way to what he plays today.

DJ’ing didn’t come around though till his mid teens but collecting music is something he’s always done with him having to spend most of his life dealing with the passing of his father. Music was the way he escaped from the harsh realities life had offered up for him, As he approached the age of 16 it was then when the decision was made to take all his musical knowledge and passion one step further by taking up the art of DJ’ing. In the early days Aaron mastered his mixing skills playing a selection of different genres until mid 2012 when he heard “Hot Natured - Forward Motion” for the first time, It was that moment his arm hairs stood up and he knew House Music was what he wanted to play since that day he’s never looked back. 

Fast forward to the modern day and Aztec has earned the right to support and play on events hosting some of the best House & Techno DJ’s the world has to offer. With sets on global brands Defected & Do Not Sleep you can now see him holding a residency at The Move one of the Midlands premier nights. Aaron is also heavily involved in Freakshow a brand new night which has a target of becoming a major force in his local city of Stoke-on-Trent. His goals for the future will see him being involved in the studio a lot more while also continuing to grow his label.
