Lacrimosa is the largest choir (200 person) ever sampled and was derived from our exclusive V8P sample catalogue. Lacrimosa was recorded in a pyramid like structure with 70 Basses, 60 Tenors, 40 Altos and 30 Sopranos. This allows the males to be equally powerful to the women - who commonly dominate the mix in epic choral scores. We will be releasing a variety of videos, demos and other facts about the library in coming days. Lacrimosa contains 3 microphone positions (Mixed, Decca, Far) and contains an insane amount of articulations, including layered True Legato, extensive sets of Multi-Vowels (allowing the choir to sing 100% realistic and fast), Staccato, Power-Marcato, Arcs, Sustains and many other elements. 17.5GB (lossless compressed from 42GB). 16.500 samples.

8Dio Lacrimosa Pro: "Panta Rhei" by Troels Folmann

Can you hear the edit where the recording jumps from 2007 to 2015? Listen for the intonation of the tuning. The 2 takes were shifted 50 cents to make them equal.

Organist Stephen Tharp helped start the fund raising with a recording he made of the pipe organ at Our Lady of Refuge in 2007 (which can be found on youtube). Days after the organ was removed from the church. Many thought it would never come back.  A dedicated group raised over $250,000 from well over 1000 people, many who had never set foot in the church, Brooklyn or the state of New York. Stephen Tharp returned in 2015 to re-record the same piece on the now fully restored pipe organ. 

After being dedicated in 2013 by an organist of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Olivier Latry, the church had 6 more recitals to share this incredible instrument with the people around the church. People from all faiths have come to enjoy the recitals. 

The pipe organ at Our Lady of Refuge is one of the finest pipe organs in Brooklyn and is in pristine condition. The organ was installed and the console restored by Quimby Pipe Organs. The organ pipes were cleaned, and restored to by A.R. Schopp's Sons who also releathered the wind chests.
