Redemption

Being a music fanatic does not mean commiting to a single genre. Though my preference has been black metal (old school like 94 Gorgoroth and everything symphonic black like everything Emperor has ever done), I have a love for music in general. When it's good, it's simply good. Even if I don't like it, the music can be spot on.

As so, in my life I have cooperated with many genres going from gothrock to soft rock to hard rock to ballads to.... you name it.

Today I will upload one of the more "progressive melodic dead-ish" metal songs I have lent my voice to. Please give me your opinions, I'm very curious if you like it :) this song has been produced and recorded over a decade ago. It was on an EP called "September Syn" as album title and the song title was Maelstrom.

This is a song, written in ancient dialect Dutch, about a whore, who does not want to be a whore, but has to be so her children can be fed and she can have a life. She allows herself to be "raped" by countless men every night until festering wounds are caused by the abuse and they never go away, this woman is in constant pain but has to endure it. She cries every day, the whole day, because she can't take it anymore but has to do it to meet "end's meet".... the men who do it to her either don't care or aren't aware such situation might exist within prostitution so they just take their pleasure from it. It is a tale of a woman, willingly taking abuse to survive in this world because no other chances are within her reach. there is way more reality in this story than one might imagine. It was written somewhere by the end of the 90's and will be released soon on an E.P., as an introduction to a full cd to be released in 2019.

The ultimage goal in life should be to reach ones highest potential and when and if they do, light the path for others so they can reach theirs. I've been doing vocals and music since I was 12, primarily focussing on vocals and just doing music to write riffs and have other (and better) artists play them for me. I am a solo artist working with session artists to bring you songs in several styles and sometimes go live under the name of āter. āter will release it's third solo album this year. Meanwhile I'm working as a session vocalist and live stand in, I built my own vocal studio to do this so I can work with artists overseas and still send them pro studio results from where I work. I do work on location if the clients wants to but then the cost of transportation + my usual rate is the responsibility for the client. I sometimes do freebies when we work with each other in partnership, like people helping me write or improve my solo records often get free services from me in return. My passion has and always will be music in every form, be it black metal (my usual favorite) or the legendary Michael Jackson, if music is good, it is simply good. On this page you will find several finished and unfinished songs, some demo quality, some studio quality, most of them have been composed and played by myself with session members. You'll hear I'm a man of different styles, from neoclassic to old school black to symphonic dark metal to even acoustics... it's what I do and what I love. My solo albums will almost always be a mixture of symphonic black in the vain of emperor and my own specific twist to it, brutal, sharp, dark and melodic.

My gage is agreed upon per son, depending if you rely on my for the lyrics and vocal lines or if I just have to sing what you have allready prepared, if it's just one song or a complete album, just some backings.... Because of this experience I have also done a lot of voice acting for documentaries and movies and have given classes and seminars in "how to improve your stage presence" and "how to connect with your audience", based on my years long experience in gigging and touring.
