Being a Secret Mantra, Rishi Markandeya was the only one on the earth who knew this mantra. The Moon was once in trouble, when cursed by King Daksha. Rishi Markandeya gave the Mahamritryunjaya Mantra to Sati, Daksha's daughter, for the Moon. According to another version this is the Bija mantra as revealed to Rishi Kahola that was given by Lord Shiva to sage Sukracharya, who taught it to Rishi Dadhichi, who gave it to King Kshuva, through whom it reached the Shiva Purana. This mantra is also called the Rudra mantra, referring to the furious aspect of Lord Shiva; the Tryambakam mantra, alluding to Shiva's three eyes; and it is sometimes known as the Mrita-Sanjivini mantra because it is a component of the "life-restoring" practice given to the primordial sage Sukracharya after he had completed an exhausting period of austerity. Its Devata is Rudra or Lord Shiva in his fiercest and most destructive roopa or aspect.

there are those with the idea that life is not 'sacred'. they believe this because they see that earth is just a tiny speck of dust compared to the entire cosmos. if earth were to explode today the universe would hardly know it. these people look at humanity always constantly fighting and destroying everything. they see that humanity's fighting is pointless because at the end of the day, those conflicts will be forgotten and new ones will be forged. ultimately earth internal struggles and daily happenings will never ever be heard or known from others in the universe so therefore life is pointless. under that school of thought, one then determines that the purpose of life is to merely exist and nothing more. i believe that is the exact reason that life is so 'sacred' though, knowing that what we do in the grand scheme of things won't change a whole lot, makes life 'sacred' to me because then you must use the power within yourself to make the most of your existence. if life had incredible and obvious purpose, then the world would be boring and we'd have no surprises. life is about a journey to finding out your role in the life of only merely existing and the fact that it isn't handed to you gives life so much more meaning. just because your life is pointless to others in the universe, doesn't really that you can't make it purposeful. life is how you make it, if you turn it into emptiness/nothingness that has no meaning, then you will have a life that is full of nothingness with no meaning, or absolutely empty/void or a (0) zero, and then you enter in the realm of sacredness.

SADASHIVA[AASHUTOSH]

ņäģās as powerful forces contain profound wisdom, which is the highest transformational energy of awareness. there are such ņäģās in the earth or earth currents holding the earth wisdom and power, creating various sacred sites and nature’s points of power. there are ņäģās in the atmosphere or life currents from which all weather patterns arise through the thunder and lightning, clearing the air and renewing all life. there are ņäģās in the sky extending from solar, lunar and planetary currents to those of the stars and galaxies subtle winds and energies of light in an overflowing tapestry reaching beyond time and space.

today in our information technology era, which is another kind of naga, serpent or electrical force, we need to contact the higher wisdom nagas and not become victims of mere artificial currents and commercial powers. it is important that our minds and hearts are vibrating not just with electrical energies from the media, music, our computers, or our instruments of communication and travel on any level. we must allow the electrical force of the entire universe, its secret currents of pure consciousness and bliss to flow within us like a dance of perpetual lightning. this is the real inner worship of the ņäģās. we do this when we recognize our true nature, our inner being, the presence of shivā, who rules over the vast and intricate ever-changing cosmos from a point of pure unity within the spiritual heart.
