"Conkarah" adalah seorang musisi Jamaika yang karirnya sedang berkembang pesat di 
kancah Reggae internasional.  Ia bagian dari gerakan baru "Reggae Revival" di Jamaika
yang mengembalikan fokus mata dunia ke negeri asal Reggae, Jamaika.

Layaknya Kabaka Pyramid, Protoje, Jah9, Chronixx. Conkarah memberi nafas baru di musik 
Reggae seperti tembang-tembang lover's rock-nya yang mengisahkan persoalan cinta-asmara.

diambil dari ejaan "slang" bahasa Patois/Patwa Jamaika;  arti "Conkarah" dari bahasa Inggris "Conqueror" adalah
seorang penjelajah dan penakluk.  Namun ia sama sekali tidak bermaksud menaklukan dengan cara senjata namun
sebaliknya, ia ingin menyebarkan pesan cinta yang sudah tertanam sebagai nilai-nilai dan spirit musik Reggae.

terbukti dari beberapa album yang ia telah rilis, ia berkolaborasi dengan berbagai musik produser
dari Inggris, Meksiko, Austria, Jerman, India , Hawaii dan sebagainya.  Ia sangat terbuka untuk 
bereksperimen bukan dengan Roots Reggae saja tetapi Drum&Bass dan Dubstep.  Bahkan ia mengatakan bahwa
ia menciptakan genre baru yang ia sebut sebagai "Reggaestep"

Bahkan di album terbarunya berjudul "to the world", ia berkolaborasi pertama kalinya
dengan Ras Muhamad Duta Reggae Indonesia sebagai produser dan penata musik ternama 
Wisnu "Wizzow" Prastowo dalam lagu "Blood-Shed".  Lagu tersebut adalah pertama kalinya
Indonesia membuat musik Reggae khusus untuk seorang artis Jamaika.

Sang pelantun yang sudah memiliki deretan "hits" seperti "Island Girl", "Ganja Field",
"Tear Down Babylon", "Barbershop" akan mengadakan konser transit di Jakarta, Indonesia
pada bulan Agustus 2014.

Kini pecinta dan insan musik Reggae di Indonesia bisa menikmati lagu-lagu Conkarah dalam bentuk 
"mixtape".  Dipilih dan ditata urutan lagu-lagu Conkarah oleh telinga istimewanya Selektah King Lion Rock dari Asia-Afrika Soundsystem.

Insan Reggae akan dijamin untuk dimanja telinganya oleh musik-musik Conkarah yang manis dan super keren!

Hailing from Jamaica, Conkarah quickly established himself in the international Reggae scene as a  bold and progressive artist. He is part of a "Reggae Revival" movement, a cultural wave originating in Jamaica that embraces the spirituality of Rastafarian, the roots of reggae, and a higher consciousness in the music. 

Conkarah derived his name from the English word 'Conqueror', spoken in Jamaican Patois. He is on a mission to conquer the world with his music by spreading the values and spirits of Reggae music. Along with artists like Kabaka Pyramid, Protoje, Jah9, and Chronixx, Conkarah brings a breath of fresh air into the Reggae scene. His new EP “To The World” incorporates a broad range of musical styles from roots reggae, lovers rock, drum and bass, to dubstep. True to its title, you can hear a collaboration of various music producers from different parts of the world such as UK, Mexico, Austria, Germany, India, Hawaii, and Indonesia. Conkarah takes reggae to the next level by fusing it with dubstep, creating a new genre “Reggaestep”

For the first time ever, Asia-Afrika Soundsystem from Indonesia teamed up with Conkarah by releasing this new mixtape entitled CONKARAH – Deh Pon Stereo Volume 1.

The mix starts with the famous “Ganja Field” tunes which is the reggae cover version of “Travis McCoy – I wanna be a millionaire”. Conkarah replaced all the lyrics into a more cannabis-oriented theme in a parody manner. The next three tracks, “Island Girl”, “Kinda Love”, and “Simply Natural” have romantic and lovelorn vibe in a lovers rock style. A note on “Bloodshed” as it is a special collaboration with Indonesia's very own Reggae Ambassador Ras Muhammad and Wisnu "Wizzow" Prastowo as the producer - the first ever production between an Indonesian and a Jamaican artist. The playlist moves on to more dubstep and reggaestep-oriented tunes with “Raggamuffin”, “Tear Down Babylon”, “Message to Myself”, ending with “Believe in Love”

Selector King Lion Rock and Deejay Ras Muhammad did an excellent job in selecting and crafting an eclectic mix of Conkarah's work, showing and educating listeners on the next level sound of Reggae.

CONKARAH - Deh Pon Stereo Vol 1

Indonesia’s own Asia-AfrikaSoundsystem (Selekta King Lion Rock & Deejay RasMuhamad) have teamed up with one of Europe’s finest Reggae-Talents Tóke for a special second edition mixtape of cross-cultural piece of art by the name DehPon Stereo Vol. 2

The 14-track strong mixtape offers a glimpse into Tóke’s versatility as he rides an eclectic selection of instrumentals ranging from Foundation Reggae to Hip Hop, Afrobeat and Folk featured some remixes songs from his critically acclaimed debut album ‚Wake Up Inna Kingston‘ as well as exclusive versions.

Apart from showcasing the German-Indonesian’s unmistakable lyrical and musical skill this body of work aims at building a sonic bridge between Reggae and Indonesia: both cultures are introduced to each other with meticulously selected details (e.g. indonesian lickshots & soundeffects, Indonesian freestyle), offering an innovative and fresh listening experience.

Besides the Asia-AfrikaSoundsystem’s own RasMuhamad (including his 2 new solo tracks), Exile Di Brave (Jamaica), Infinite (Jamaica) and Rap Jack (Germany) are featured as guest artists.

Most songs of the production were recorded in in Canggu, Bali (Indonesia) while Tóke was visiting his country of birth for his Indonesian Tour 2016

The Collaboration Mix from Asia-Afrika Sound with street wear clothing line Tuff Stuff 
 
For this Mighty Sound Collaboration, Selecta Lionrock alongside Ras Muhamad mix and reshape the original sounds of dub, the name TUFFSTUFF inspires Asia Afrika Soundsystem to record a dub mixtape where the heaviness of the bass is created by dub riddim resulting in a tough sound, just like the cult brand itself. Heavy downtempo riddims, hype and a danceable rub a dub style mixed with Ras Muhamad’s vocals take listeners to another dimension of Reggae culture.


The mixtape starts with Phil Pratt’s “Dial M for Murder”, a track heavily influenced by the rough and tough life from Reggae's birth place, the streets of Kingston, then followed by one of the biggest and most righteous tunes from Lee Perry, “Dread Lion”, influenced by the Lion of Judah that represents strength and courage. Towards the end of the mixtape, Asia Afrika Soundsystem bring mellow vibes with Jackie Edwards "In Paradise", then shift to love rock tune “Oooh Boy” from Sandra Reid, before finalizing the mix with a tune from one of the biggest bands in the UK; The In Crowds’ “His Majesty is Coming”, paying respect to the Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I.

Asia-Afrika Sound X Tuff Stuff - Tuff Dub

Asia-Afrika brings their latest collaboration mixtape with Whiteboard Journal. Titled W Dub, the mix consists of classic and heavy dub tracks from legendary artists such as King Tubby, Lee Perry, Aggrovator, Dennis Brown, etc.
 
The mix begins with spacey and planetary vibes from The Vulcan, a side project of keyboardist Ken Elliot who was in the prog-rock band Second Hand. Then there is Money, a track from Easy Star All-Star band. The tunes open with the sound of bong hits and coughing, then grooves to slow and dubby reggae beats. Afterwards there’s Jungle Lion, Lee Perry’s infamous track, combining Al-Green’s famous guitar riddim with a unique blend of murky rhythm tracks, heavy bass, thunderous drum and distant-sounding horns.
 
The mixtape continues with several dubs tracks from King Tubby, Don Corleone, Aggrovator, reaching its end with slower tempo of Lover Rock style from Dennis Brown with the reggae version of Black Magic Woman before finally ending with Red Red Wine’s original version by Tony Tribe. All these tracks are compiled and mixed by Lion Rock and added with deejaying (toasting/mc) from Ras Muhamad, bringing the dub reggae style version into the next level. Asia-Afrika sound choose to collaborate with Whiteboard Journal to expand the musicality and the culture to wider audiences, Asia-Afrika Soundsystem believe that Reggae is for everyone, each person should enjoy the music and learn the culture.
