Chicago-based via Texas producer Jdotbalance is embodied by their passion for unconventional sonics. Their sounds can be characterized as fusing hybrid synthesis dynamics and unfamiliar hooks, guided by an ever-present stimulus that can be defined as forward-thinking, left-field dance and global club music.

Resident Advisor’s Andrew Ryce has described Jdotbalance’s debut ep ‘high exposure’ as “an impressive debut” that “possesses a better understanding of the mechanics of rhythm and dance music than others”.

They’ve recently been featured on amor satyr’s radio show for rinse France as well as sorry record’s lot radio show. A key part of New York’s club music underground, WTCHCRFT will release his next EP on Clasico, Local Action’s new sibling label curated and operated by ELEANOR.

Titled Sleepless in Brooklyn, the four-track EP sees WTCHCRFT continue to hone a distinctive take on techno — typically driven by acid basslines, minimal 808s and vocal hooks that reflect his hip-hop background — that’s seen him supported by the genre’s brightest sparks: Ellen Allien, Marie Davidson, TSHA, VTSS, Francois X, SPF DJ and Paula Temple.

A live fixture in the US and Europe, both solo and as one half of Madness Of (with regular b2b-partner KYRUH), WTCHCRFT has previously released on Balkan Vinyl, Sorry Records, Noise Manifesto and more.

Started during the pandemic and finished at the start of this year, Sleepless in Brooklyn is “dedicated to my time in Sunset Park Brooklyn, staying awake every day during the pandemic making music until 7AM."

Aasthma, a collaboration between Swedish producers Pär Grindvik and Peder Mannerfelt . A sonically high-fidelity whirlwind, occupying a dazzling soundworld where Top 40 ballads and breakbeat rollers gleefully canoodle with trap bangers, neon-streaked EDM and guttural dancehall.

Graduating from the class of Fever Ray 2018 Plunge tour, Peder Mannerfelt and Pär Grindvik found themselves inexplicably drawn towards creating Aasthma as a vessel for their collaborative respiratory malaise. After being tapped up for gaseous exchanges for the likes of Björk, Modeselektor and Massive Attack, they released their debut full length ”Arrival” in late 2022 to great fanfare. Including collaborations with diverse artist such as Jonnine Standish of HTRK, Adam Olenius of Shout Out Louds, Casey MQ, Gavsborg of Equiknoxx and Swedish rapper Silvana Imam it shows their commitment to fumigating beyond their natural habitat of cramped basements and cavernous technodomes into uncharted popular territories.
 
In the first half of 2023, they're also excited about the new Fever Ray album that they have been working on. New exciting collaborations with Swedish fragments brand Stora Skuggan, an exclusive mix tape release together with Oscar Magnuson Spectacales with events and shows in Paris, Berlin, and Stockholm.

Aasthma is also currently preparing new singles and collaborations as well as our first live show at the Stockholm-based Department festival.
