@exilles is a project born from the alchemy of two minds, united by a common desire to undermine, compose and recompose raw, corrosive and dreamy sounds with a mystical and enigmatic imagery. They strictly perform live, orchestrating ancestral ceremonies with analog machines and modular synthesizers, whose dark and hypnotic sounds chase the persistent in a synesthetic atmosphere.

With their techno built around the polarity of light and darkness, black and white, continuously keeps us poised between opposites, between consciousness and raving.

After years of experience of residency as LiveAct/DjSet among European Techno scene with other alias, they release the first ep as Exilles on Involve Records, followed by other ep’s on A.R.T.S, Planet Rhythm, Persistence and their own Genau Recordings. They performed Live in different Clubs like Smolna, Griessmuehle, Fabrik and more.

His music is a combination of syncopated industrial/experimental rhythms and sombre soundscapes blending punk and futuristic atmosphere with noise textures. Hybral is a Berlin-based non-binary DJ and producer drawn to eerie energetic industrial techno. They mix and produce haunting techno and noisy-driven experimental sounds - creating dystopian and menacing atmospheres and capturing feelings of anger, anxiety, chaos, fear, tension and pain.  Hybral's productions are made of dark atmospheric patterns linked with pushing percussions and basslines as well as heavily distorted kicks and harsh industrial noises.

Around min 1:31:00 the PA-system stops working and the lights go out.
The space is pitch black, only my booth is still working - total confusion.
I'm turning my monitors around to the crowd, keep the music playing... minutes go by waiting and hoping for the technics to get fixed.

Blush Response is Joey Blush, a Cuban-American artist and sound designer hailing from NUC who now resides in Berlin. Blush cut his teeth doing programming work for artists such as Fear Factory, Rhys Fulber, Cristian Castro, and as a touring member of Joey Jordison (Slipknot)'s alternative rock project Scar the Martyr. A fascinating, vibrant new artist, frequenting the outer realms of post punk, industrial, techno, you-name-it and has a plethora of releases on cd, vinyl, digital and even cassette tape format to date on labels like Sonic Groove, Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Ant-zen, and Total Black

The intention behind blush response is to always push the limits of sound, structure, and perception, creating a modern version of what he perceives industrial music to be: brutal, inventive, uncompromising and always innovative. Throbbing Gristle, Surgeon or Front 242 have left audible traces in his sound, and his goal is to recapture the core spirit of these originators, and then to evolve it even further. Performing on hardware synthesizers is a big part of the essence of Blush Response. His approach is very ‘hands on’ and thus 90% of the changes you hear on his sounds are done by hand without any automation. Blush believes in performative gestures over cut and paste editing, and strives to explore the limits of human-machine interactions. His live performances are 100% improvised and mostly unplanned which includes mistakes and happy accidents, and this philosophy is also reflected in his studio work.

Blush Response's music is characterized by a heavy approach to sound design, combining rough, glitch-heavy beats with thick, distorted synths. Pounding, head-tripping kick drums intermix with abrasive, dark sequences generating huge walls of cavernous sonics. A pulsating slice of straightforward noise-filtered techno with a good dose of industrial and EBM influences while blush's improvising skills enable a sound that blurs the lines between these genres. A barely tamed beast, biting and piercing holes in eardrums and somehow magically managing to make your feet tap along or, at considerable volume, rave.

Abaddon Podcast 091 X Blush Response Live at Prectxe Festival at B39.Space, Bucheon, South Korea

In our 107th episode of Abaddon podcast we are pleased to host Rommek. 

As a recently emerging artist, Rommek has shown promising developments in his own sound, as well as carving his way into the current techno scene. His extensive interest in sound design is crafted within the dense atmospheres, heavy textured drums and dynamic tones found within his productions.

The London based producer released his debut 'Thought Patterns EP' on Weekend Circuit in 2014. This helped to establish his position on the map. Since then, various releases on Leyla, Dyad or Sontag Morgen have proven his wide appeal through the combination of the energetic, gritty UK sound combined with moody and deeper aspects.

In 2016, Rommek joined the seminal Blueprint Records, with his EP ‘Moth Hole’, plus contributed to the 20 years ‘Structures and Solutions’ compilation. From this he gained a wide range of noteworthy support and became established within the blueprint family. Following up with his second solo EP, Arcane; he experimented with new sound pallets and continued to push his creativity, whilst exploring new depths. Continuing to work alongside the label, in 2018 Rommek completed his most establish work to date, the ‘Set In Stone Trilogy’. The three part release compromises of two EP’s of original productions that incorporate ambient electronics, broken rhythms, and tightly controlled distortion. The third release of the series consists of remixes from key members of the Blueprint team, James Ruskin, OVR, Broken English Club and Makaton.

During 2018, Torn Relics, the experimental prokect between Rommek + Aimee Mullen was formed. The body of their work is a mixture of cyber-punk electronics with tribalistic rhythms and tones. Together, they combine a range of classical and electronic instruments to create a rich and twisted sound pallet. Their debut EP, The Poisoned Chalice, is released on Sacred Court and includes a remix by label owner SNTS. From this, it’s clear that Rommek is driven to continue expanding his capability’s and keep things moving forward.
