Next Episode of Abaddon Podcast with Operation 4.0

Operation 4.0 is the latest project from Cat Hooper: former founder of Unmasked & a DJ who has been heavily involved in the UK scene for many years, performing under various aliases, thus giving space to explore a multitude of genres. 

Born into the rave era and first touching a pair of turntables at aged 15, her love for electronic music and the scene itself was heavily ingrained in her from the start. Currently working on her debut EP, along with djing she is also a radio host with a monthly show on AAJA music, holds a residency for Somnus London and works with techno record label Metempsychosis Records and music school Home of Sound.

Operation 4.0 is undefined by style, however heavily influenced by the late 80’s and 90’s: delving into the parameters between EBM, electro, acid and techno. Her selections diversify and are ever adapting as she goes from enticing and enigmatic to peak time performance that is built for the dance floor.

The Brvtalist is a writer, promoter and DJ with a focus on mutant metropolitan culture. Since 2013, the platform of the same name has featured, collaborated and/or performed with a variety of artists across multiple disciplines including Julius (JP), Void Vision, Drab Majesty, Katie Gallagher, Söderberg, Ancient Methods, Ayarcana, VTSS, Silent Servant, SPFDJ and more. As a DJ, The Brvtalist fuses together a mix of techno, industrial, EBM, acid and wave, playing both sides of the Atlantic, from Los Angeles to New York, Berlin, London and Paris. In addition, The Brvtalist has also become known for its forward thinking events, staging showcases in Amsterdam, L.A. and as a resident of Ohm Berlin. She has performed under various aliases which have given her space to explore a multitude of genres but always rooted in high energy techno. Born unto the dancefloor, along with DJing she is also a radio host with a monthly show on Aaja radio and holds DJ residencies for both Overdrive and Somnus London.

Operation 4.0 is the accumulation of expertly weaving together hardcore, techno, EBM, electro, and psytrance but principally showcases Cat’s passion for acidic 90’s rave. With a soon to be released EP Operation 4.0 illustrates the fast, fun, and furious sound that she is known for.
