Subtyl artist collective has been making waves in the french underground scene for the past 7 years. Described as “one of Paris most dynamic techno promoter” by Mixmag, the collective has had a major role in the french rave renaissance, by organising clandestine events in industrial spaces.

Last year, the collective opened its own venue in a former hallal supermarket called Megadestock.

A place that embodies the collective ethos, based on solidarity, passion and support for emerging talents.

To keep pushing this agenda, we are now releasing a 13 tracks compilation by artist we invited previously at our event. From Size Pier’s EBM to the violent experimentation of Quelza, through to Voiski’s iconic trance and Cuften post-rave sound, Megadestock Vol 1 shows the energy and diversity of the electronic music scene in Europe.

Åre:gone returns, this time with a solo EP, presenting two hypnotic and industrial-influenced cuts plus two great remixes. Starting with “Rå”, a modular-driven track with a detailed texture work and atmospheric components. Second we have the Marla Singer’s remix, exposing a bass heavy interpretation with a very good pads rework. On the B-Side we found “Asgard” with a subterranean groove sequence and layered drums and reverberations. The last two tracks are remixes from A Thousand Details, the first one is a work that shows a minimalistic and more experimental version of the original one and the second is a warmer and melodic remix. Abstraction keeps evolving it’s sound.

Ellen Allien’s ‘Remix 1’ of ‘Mercurial Skin’ welcomes a series of acid-tinged synths patterns, whilst Yogg & Pharaoh unleash off-kilter synths and sinister tones throughout ‘Maara’. Antigone and fellow Taapion co-founder AWB lower the tempo and bring a moment of rest to the fore with their slick interpretation of ‘Ivory’, working spectral sounds amongst precise drum shots, before handing over to Hadone who delivers his second remix of ‘Minotia’, this time opting for an all-out assault of high-octane drum arrangements contrasted against underlying core melodies and completing the package in style.

Obsessed by synths, french producer Cuften is also known for his alias LePyong, under which he already released a cassette on Tripalium Corp's Digital Mutant Series. He's been a freeparty activist and a DJ since the late 90s, with a mainly rave and hardcore background - that you can definitely feel in that new 12'' EP. These 3 tracks, which have been recorded in a live context in order to keep a human feel, are a well balanced mix of oldschool rave energy and futuristic aesthetics.

Let's start the set with some tension to move on to melancholic and trancy tracks to make room for dark to mental techno. Let's continue with EBM tracks and breaks to close the set lightly.

I like dark techno, with a deep and threatening atmosphere that contrasts with the euphoric tracks, looking for that particular balance between light and dark. Whatever the genre, the dialect is reflected in the progression and negation between the tracks. I tried to write a story with a proper intro and outro. Thank you for listening.
