For this installment we've invited London based artist Fairground of Tears to take you on a menacing journey through the darkest realms of industrial/ebm techno.

Fairground of Tears is an artistic concept run by Piotr Sledzinski. A concept that is categorised by the darker, industrial and more energetic tones of the techno genre.

Piotr has experimented with electronic music of all colours partly through his former alias and alternative electronica project Ne Plus Ultra along with an involvement in the Passive Front Records imprint. This wide ranging experience and hunt for expression ultimately leads itself to the Fairground of Tears concept and Exiled event series. The latter playing host to Melania, Operant, Violet Poison, Codex Empire, Inhalt Der Nacht to name a few and establishing itself as a premier and forward thinking events series. 

In that very same vein his own sets and productions are not bound by any specific style. Consequently an eclectic mixture of dense industrial textures and atmospheres as well as electronic body music can be expected in his mixes and productions.

The woman featured on the cover of this sixth Proletarijat release is the nurse Milja Marin. This was a household portrait in Partisan circles, called Kozarcanka - “woman from Kozara”. After the war, Milja said she had very little to smile about, nor did she want to carry a rifle. But she did it anyway. Our struggle thus demands, as the old Partisan song tells us.    

With this release, Sev Dah continues to celebrate those who dedicated their lives fighting fascism. Two old-school techno beasts as a nod to those who came before us, finishing with a futuristic space-traveller on the B-side as a reminder that the fight never ends.

A venturesome stomper buffed out with an unrelenting, neurotic bass line which is sure to turn heads. »Rise and Kill« features the Birmingham producer’s inimitable swing that is dominated by another incisive bass line and served with a big side of hypnosis. On the ﬂip side, »Pre Language« is a masterclass in minimalism. Beefy low-ends, a galloping groove and an enchanting atmosphere turns this one into an essential tool for DJs. The ﬁnal cut, »Double Heart«, delves a bit deeper. The journey evolves delicately with the help of gentle pads, an undulating bass line and a piercing hook.
