Boy Tzortz - Your Smell Is Familiar [RM5]

The second SPLIT record of the Pi Electronics sub-catalogue kicks off 2022's release schedule, combining music by Ontal, the duo hailing from Serbia and Athens based producer, DΛS.

After 4 years, Ontal return to the label, with ‘Almagest’ Parts I & II on the A side, giving two different interpretations of their trademark industrial textured techno. One with a focus on the bassline and one kick drum oriented version.

The B side of SPLIT#2 hosts Athens techno producer and label resident DΛS, presenting his music for the very first time on vinyl. Driving, broken beat techno with an industrial edge.

Los Angeles based Venaeform Records debuts their first release initiated by the label’s creator Spheric with his project Ixïan. Ixïan Unlike Us EP delivers 7 original tracks (incl.1 digital bonus track available online) and a remix by Nordstaat. The Unlike Us EP consists of unique & diverse tracks of alternative forms of techno and ebm. Each of the tracks have their own aura of timbres from the ritualistic chants and ominous atmospheres of “Mahdi” to the track “Demon to Some” with its ebm embedded elements leading into a haunting & rhythmic passage into an underworld. “Unlike Us” track conveys the sense of one observing a possession of an unknown lifeform while the Nordstaat remix of “Mahdi” creates a dark hypnotic ebm journey. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Krake Festival, we have compiled this compilation of tracks by artists who played for us over the last 10 years and from labels who have donated for our raffle. It would have been too much to ask all of the artists we love, so we have come up with this selection. One third of the tracks have been previously released, but the majority has never seen daylight before and is exclusive to this release. There was no limit in style or genre and so compilation is as diverse as our festival, crossing over from ambient/drone to industrial techno, from techno to wave.

All buyers will automatically take part in our charity raffle/tombola with great prizes by numerous record labels and tech partners. Each purchase will be treated as one lot, so the more copies you buy the more chances you have to win! (nudge nudge)
The profit of this compilation will be donated 50% to Seawatch and 50% to the inclusive project Ick Mach Welle, which teaches people with learning disabilities how to make electronic music.
