Welcome back to Deep House Barcelona. For this week’s episode, we are thrilled to introduce the talented artist Benedict from Sheffield.
Benedict is a DJ, producer and promoter from the north of the UK, inspired by the sound and momentum of driving Chicago House. He began his journey in his early teens, later releasing music on labels such as Freerange, Tone Control, Huddtrax and Detroit’s Kolour.

After spending nearly a decade on the dancefloor rather than in the booth, Benedict is now a regular guest at renowned Berlin institutions such as Sisyphos and Golden Gate. He is the co-founder of Sheffield party Machine Soul and has self-released two sold-out records in the last twelve months, with a third on the way.

For his session at Deep House Barcelona, Benedict dives into a journey of groove crafted with flawless technique and superb track curation. Expect a modern take on nostalgic house: lush vocals, seductive basslines, deep soul, and that unmistakable driving momentum. His mixes glide with precision: smooth, confident, and deeply intentional, building energy in waves that draw you closer to the heart of the club.

With a sound shaped by Berlin floors like Sisyphos and Golden Gate, and the spirit of his own Machine Soul, Benedict knows exactly how to ignite a room. The remix series returns with a new wave of artist-focused VA's

FXPLYR004 opens the run with Kassian curating a sharp set of club-ready reworks. Calling in friends and extended family from across the scene, the release revisits the early sounds that shaped the duo’s foundations back in 2022. Kassian lead with a new electro-leaning VIP of ‘Off World Vehicles’, ramping up the acid and propulsion while keeping the original’s explosive drive. Bodhi flips ‘Fade’ into a peak-time garage weapon powered by heavy low-end, while Danny Goliger reshapes it into a forward-leaning broken-beat roller.

The ‘Hollow’ remixes widen the emotional and stylistic range: sept7 pushes the track into big-bass electronic territory; Lugovskiy delivers a textured, garage-tinted atmospheric version; and Gary Gritness turns in a raw, hardware-driven 9-minute machine-electro workout. Closing the package, Ben Gomori’s Space Garage Remix of ‘Off World Vehicles’ bends the original into a playful, personality-rich 2-step cut.

Biography: 
Marc Vasquez (also known as Subchord and Magnificent M) is a key figure in the development of electronic music in Germany and beyond. Over more than three decades, he has pushed the sonic boundaries of House, Dubtechno, and Drum & Bass; in the late 1980s, he was among the first to bring House and Acid House vinyl from London to Germany, introducing a club aesthetic that was new to the country.

In the early 1990s, Vasquez became part of the Rhine–Neckar scene and began releasing his own productions under various aliases, including Undercover Music, on labels such as ZYX Music. His approach combines innovation, technical precision, and intuitive musicality: as a DJ, he is known for sets that drive the groove while conveying a clear concept—remaining a vinyl purist with a forward-looking mindset.

In 2014, he founded U.G.K Rekords (Underground Global Kommunikation), a platform dedicated to experimental Drum & Bass and Techstep (since 2018, the project has been run by Stephan Zander and his team). In spring 2020, Vasquez launched the digital label Augmented Reality Recordings, rooted in Deep/Dubtechno aesthetics, with an international roster and consistently high production standards—reinforcing his role as a cultural mediator committed to authenticity, experimentation, and artistic coherence.

J-808 first EP, ‘Altern8’ tries to advance a vintage type of sound that waved around his birth in the world’s Electronic Dance Music community.

Mainly Chicago House and Detroit Techno, his influences on that release were directed by the underground movements in America by the early nineties but his credo is deeply french and actual and has a very modern point of view of electronic music despite his oldschool influences.

Olivier Abbeloos  is born and raised in Belgium. He’s active as DJ, producer, composer, remixer. 

Step backward,  Olivier Abbeloos a familiar name? That depends on when you first started buying house music.
 
He shot to fame in the early 90's producing classics such as T99's 'Anasthasia' together with Patrick De Meyer & rapper Zeno (which was on Sony Music and XL Recordings around the Prodigy era) and Quadrophonia's 'Quadrophonia' together with Lucien Foort. Two huge records, number ones in many territories worldwide and records that kick started the dance music and in particular the rave scene. The album release of T99 “Children of Chaos” contained 17 tracks. Anasthasia appears on the soundtrack of the 1999 film Human Traffic. A massive hit in 1991 and a great source of inspiration for generations to come. 25 Years later, the iconic song is honored with five new versions on Armada. In 2019 Anasthasia is honored with a lot of remixes on iG Recording.
With Quadrophonia he released the album “Cozmic Jam” including the rave anthem Quadrophonia.
No small feat. Olivier also produced Technotronics Second Album.
 
Fast forward to 2006 and Olivier has struck gold with his C-MOS - “2 million ways” record signed to Lowered Rec. / Universal Music (UK) and remixed by Axwell. But this time its not a rave anthem - this is a raw yet slick house record. 
So what else is Olivier doing ? Olivier runs Holographic & iG Recording, labels based in Belgium. Over the past 20 years, he has developed a typical sound that is like no other in the house scene. He produces several projects under the names C-MOS, Conga Squad, Cloud 9, Nu-matic, Bio-nic, Dynetic, Warp Factor One, Souldraft, Kretek, Soul Patrol, Trigger, Destroyer, Neon, Jarvic 7, Random Generator, Vortex, NBK, QA 0-127, The Concrete Beat, Neutron Pulse, ...
His hot and spicy sequences have appeared on a lot of mix compilations (Armada, Moby, Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, ….). Companies like Universal, Sony, Columbia, EMI, BMG, Warner, Virgin, Subliminal, Motivo, Strictly Rhythm, Kingstreet, JBO, Armada, Spinnin' …  licensed his productions.
 
From Brussels to Amsterdam, Berlin, London, LA, … as a DJ Olivier travels the world and gets the crowd wet with anticipation at several house and rave parties.
