Following on from their first 3 singles, which were reviewed as out and out indie bangers, Abbey moon chose to record a piece of music that showed their versatility and showcased their ability to write the ballads that people need every now and then.  Masterpiece tells the tale of an every day person, having to make choices about what they want to do with their life. "Don't waste it, talking about the weather" Niall sings, as a warning to all that life can pass you by if you are not paying attention.  With the world at your feet there is not a moment to lose. Chose life, as the famous quote goes.

Fed up with post-punk and political posturing Niall (sisteray) went back to his roots and fell in love with the acoustic guitar all over again. Informed by the la’s, the verve, the smiths and the Arctic Monkeys he set out to write economic indie pop songs with a focus on melody and incisive lyrics. The resulting songs have a strong affinity with jangle pop and possess a timeless feel.
