Madota is the musical lovechild of urban shepherds Behnam & Mehran. Iranian by birth, Canadian by upbringing, these two have come a long way from their own journeys before reuniting in Berlin.

Realistically they didn't start playing the ukulele at the tender age of 3 nor did they buy their first drum machine when they were graduating from kindergarten. BUT what we know is that their deeply rooted love for electronic music led them to storm Vancouver's nightlife as DJs since 2011 which in turn prepared them to start their experimentation with making music that pulls influences from their hyphenated backgrounds. Their music captures their lust for soulful sounds coupled with their itch for darker forward-leaning grooves.

Their music has already taken them to perform numerous times in legendary gatherings such as Katerblau in Berlin, OFF Sónar in Barcelona and Woomoon in Ibiza.

They continue to nurture their lovechild in Berlin with upcoming releases on labels such as Get Physical Music, Kindisch, Wannabe A Frog, and Saisons.

Time to sit down for this one.. We have discovered Rudy with a Hoodie through our label manager Omer Tayar. A gem of a soul, the warmth of the sun and an extraordinary taste for music and production.

After releasing a stunning EP earlier, he took the Sandstage as his Babylon Debut at The Dunes of Babylon. We're were shocked by the selection and productions of this genius musicians.

We’ve been in Berlin for almost 9 years yet somehow, we never made it to Fusion festival. This year, we were fortunate enough to be invited to play. We truly felt the OG-ness of this festival through its organisation and curation, and stepping onto the Sonnendeck stage was a career high moment for us. It’s no phone policy is also what make it special so there isn’t much more to share than this recording. So without further ado here is our Fusion recording.

Abby Nurock's DJ journey began in 2002 with the purchase of her treasured Technics SL/1210 turntables. Renowned for her seamless blends and eclectic mixes, she is a master of her craft and a true quality music selector, drawing musical inspiration from early Chicago/Detroit House, 80s electronica, disco, jazz and classical music. Growing up in a family of musicians, her love for all things analogue was engrained. 

Abby is known for her versatility as a DJ who keeps dance floors ablaze with her diverse showcasing of house, disco, electronic, acid and techno.

Over the years, Abby has cultivated a devoted following and gained recognition for her various club and radio residencies in South Africa. She has performed at multiple festivals and label showcases across the globe including Mixmag Lab Sessions, Fabric, Secret Garden Party (UK), Zurich Music Week,
Ultra Resistance, Defected, Lighthouse Festival, The Soundgarden, Mambo Classics, Wolfkop, Bazique among others. 

She has shared the stage with artists such as Axel Boman, Ralph Lawson, Bonobo, Monolink, Super Flu, Andhim, Black Coffee, Desiree, Shimza, Joris Voorn, Adam Beyer, Kölsch, RY X, Nightmares on Wax.

Abby’s passion for vinyl continues with the development of ‘SAMP’ Records’ (South African Music Press), of which she co-directs. Its label services include small-batch vinyl pressing, licensing and distribution with the aim to elevate South African vinyl culture and international recognition. 

Over her career, Abby has crafted a unique brand and reputation under the hashtag #Strictlyvinyl as a die-hard vinyl music selector whose personality is shared through her authentic DJ performances.
