The reissue of classic and seminal releases from the Tresor catalogue comes round to Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 by "The Vision" aka Robert Hood which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. 

Released in the same year he left UR and his hometown of Detroit, Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 represents a pivotal moment in Hood's career as his move to New York with fellow UR co-founder Jeff Mills led to Hood experimenting with a new work ethos through which he settled on his trademark sound. 

Fast, aurally assaulting, yet funky - the release is techno as effective as it can possibly be; in this version, remastered by Thomas P. Heckmann, we see the first results of his transmutation as Hood manipulates the raw sounds he would soon distil into seminal works like Internal Empire and Minimal Nation. 

Ever philosophical and spiritual, in the sleeve notes for the release Hood dedicated the release "to the form of simplicity[,] the reasoning of vision[,] the understanding of where we came from and how we got here and to the perspective we use to construct over destiny" - words which from our early 2020s vantage point almost foresee the influence this intuitive work would have on artists working from Birmingham to Berlin and beyond over the next three decades.

Nonsensical is a side project from Backbone which is based on uniqueness differentiated sound paradigma. Looking for wider visions of ambience aesthetics, the artist presents himself for the first time with an EP of 6 tracks that links the listener to a day dreaming narrative. Highly connected to a deeper consciousness healing novel we can witness an inspiring environment with precise musical touches combining wood elements among fresh synths. This signature presents the beginning of 2023 from the label that returns with a second EP fulfilling an experience without stigmas.

This vision represents how endless cycles collide in order to create other forms of life. Joining this EP with a remix from the track “Solina”, Efdemin signs an outstanding uplifting track bringing a sublime sound to this release presenting a perfect sound journey to close this EP with some classy functional techno with a modern atmospheric subtle concept.

Firstly playing ambient music, Diane then crafted her musical path that she discovered in Berlin, which is about Deep-house / Minimal / Micro / Mental house. 
While playing, she takes you on a train with no destination.

Through her sets and events she curates in the Paris region, she's spreading the idea of ​​free celebration, providing human scale events accessible to all.
The party is political and the dance floor is a demonstration.

Following the reissue of his debut album Dispatches, Field Records is proud to return to the seminal work of Mike Parker with an overview of his releases on Prologue — a truly original strain of steely, hypnotic techno that has touched upon many diﬀerent waves within the wider scene.

Having pioneered a hard-edged, reductionist style via his Geophone label since the mid-90s, around 2010 Mike Parker found himself at the vanguard of an emergent sound alongside artists like Donato Dozzy and Cio D'or exploring the possibilities of immersive, profoundly transcendental club music. The Prologue label came to define this cult zeitgeist, where reduction and repetition took on a truly psychedelic quality and the subtle details made all the diﬀerence. It ran from 2008 to 2015, laying the foundations for the deep techno sound that remains a vital, evolving subculture in the present moment.

From Parker's first appearance on Prologue with the Subterranean Liquid EP in 2011 through to the Lustrations LP in 2013, he delivered some of the most incisive music of his accomplished career — teased-out rhythms carrying exquisitely engineered textures veering from the subliminal to the visceral, locked into endless, cyclical oblivion and maintaining a stern, machinist veneer. This collection on Field Records combs through Parker's Prologue output and makes a considered selection, gathering key pieces from the first two EPs alongside six of the album tracks on a triple vinyl pressing, alongside a further eight cuts on the expanded digital edition.

Not just a straight-forward reissue, consider Epilogue a thoughtful reframing of a key point in Mike Parker's stellar career. In every exacting pulse, every inch of tacit spatial design, it's the work of an expert sculpting a sound which remains influential in the here and now.

Deep’a & Biri curate a bevy of much-respected underground techno specialists to further unravel and reimagine the vital and sophisticated sounds of ‘Dominance’, their full-length LP released earlier in 2018.

Midnight Operator, the collaborative project of Mathew and Nathan Johnson, begin the set with their trippy and transcendent take on ‘False Memories’. A rare remix from the pair, their return has been worth the wait; an expertly executed techno excursion, it simultaneously burrows deeper into the psychedelic textures of the original, while providing a club-centred kick.

Further blending the experimental and the physical, Peter Van Hoesen provides a typically complex and compelling take on Voltage, deconstructing the original and expanding each element in myriad, rave-specific directions.

Deep’a & Biri enlist rising Dutch DJ-producer Deniro contributes a rolling, hypnotic version of Dominance’s spectral centrepiece, ‘Alpha Cephei’, while Z.I.P.P.O. charges down a tense, big-room industrial tunnel for his interpretation of ‘Seeking Solace’, hitting on a cathartic groove after a passage of uncompromising noise.

Concluding the EP, Steinlac’h Records founder Wice reimagines ‘Theories of Loneliness’ in dubby but propulsive fashion.
