this recording was taken from my 3hr opening set for the kajunga stage at great beyond.

i played music that i thought would acompany the bright sunny day while people were just stepping foot onto the farm.

there are various mistakes and train wrecks here and there but thats just what happens sometimes.

note:the first 20 or so minutes of the recording are pretty compressed.

this is a recording during a rave that took place in the woods late at night. it was very dark so i couldnt see the crowd, however there were people with glow-sticks. when i saw the glow sticks twirl around i would play this driving techno, when i saw the glow sticks stop moving i would play the more mild techno in my crate. thank you glowstick twirlers as you were my guide through out the night.

Episode 66 of FRiends and Family is brought to you by Beab (@abeab) from the midwest rave haven Minneapolis. Minneapolis is a scene I consider a party North Star. There's so much history, and the Ur-ravers continue to throw parties of such a quality that you can only get after putting in decades of ear-work, sharing the contemporary scene with the younger gens. Excellent sound systems, lowkey people, sincere community, and pure hedonism. Well, this is at least what I've gathered from afar here in Oklahoma City and the past three years of The Great Beyond festival, which is where I first heard of and saw Nick (Beab) dj. He opened the Kajunga World chiller zone that's by all the tents. He played 2-3 hours or so maybe? All records, so carefully selected. Super heady, not belligerent peak time bangers at 3 pm. He thoroughly understood the assignment and delivered with serious style. 

For this mix, it's also all records. He rides the line between hype and minimal, keeping a steady pace of extended groove. Some Jeff Mills and User cuts, alongside newer faves like Doo and SnPLO tracks. We know you'll enjoy.
