“Journey to Lifted Sand”


(New York, NY January 14, 2014) Raye 6, the sexy siren known for her electric, in your face persona, reveals a softer side in her latest release "Lifted Sand". On a recent UK tour with ILuvLive, Raye 6 had the chance to record with founder of Baby People UK  and renowned producer Baby J (Amy Whinehouse, Dead Prez, Estelle, Mexican Kids At Home).  

Written and composed in the beautiful countryside of Derby, "Lifted Sand", the infectious esoteric musical piece poses a few questions "who do you love/who do you trust/is there a fire/burning me up?" The poetic chorus "lifted on a faded grain of sand" is a description of love so faded the only thing left holding it up is a grain of sand. 

The scenic visual for Lifted Sand was shot on location at Castle Ashby De La Zouch in Leicestershire, United Kingdom

Fans of East Coast rap stalwarts Sadat X and El Da Sensei have been anticipating something collaborative from the duo known as XL for several years, and it’s finally come to fruition today with the first hint of their group titled release, a non-album standout in "We Must Stand."

If the soul-sampling production here sounds at all familiar, that’s because it’s handled by none other 9th Wonder. The North Carolina producer laced these two living legends with pure, neck-snapping fire that they use to kick knowledge about their worldwide travels, staying independent in a shady industry, and simply keepin’ it movin’. Adrian sent me the album early and I made this beat. Tragedy was originally gonna lay down one verse on this on some freestyle sh*t, but once I started hearing his bars I refused to let this be a one verse song! Three verses later and appropriate hook by Slap aka Fizzy Womack aka Lil Fame we have the "Stand Up" remix. Tragedy will have an alternate version of this song on his upcoming album as well.
