When I get sad I imagine Sherlock Holmes as a retired crabby old gentleman in Sussex cooing to his bees and yelling at his neighbors before airing all their dirty laundry and almost blowing up his cottage because EXPERIMENTS and Watson visiting him and being like "Dude, what?" and then they have tea and Sherlock hints that John must be lonely all by himself in a house that reminds him of his dead wife and isn't the practice taxing maybe he should relax in that armchair in his house FOREVER and then Watson shakes his head and puts on his hat and promises to visit again the next day.

(And eventually moves in with him. Though that didn't happen in the books. I don't care. THEY ARE CRABBY OLD GENTLEMEN CACKLING TOGETHER AS THEY HOBBLE AWAY FROM THE VILLAGE MARKET HAVING SOLVED SOME MYSTERY BEFORE SOME MORE INCOMPETENT POLICE OFFICERS AND GOING HOME FOR TEA AND HONEY AFTERWARDS. OKAY? OKAY.)

So credit to this goes entirely to Kaitlin (missingmymind), because she's the one who wrote it and I had a laugh reading it and said I'd sing it and she gave the go ahead and this was fun except when I was sick and kept disturbing my dorm-mates because I kept singing it.

So NotDarkYet (http://oneoftheexactsciences.tumblr.com/, or http://soundcloud.com/notdarkyet) came to me with ideas and guitar chords in her magical pocket and we collaborated on this song. It's complete domesticity and Sherlock-and-John bickering, which was really fun to write: I wrote all of Sherlock's parts, and she John's. She came up with the basic melody, and I the chorus, and then we fiddled around and viola! Enjoy!

Also in terms of compilations (cause I like to keep my Shrock songs tidy, I guess), this is the first on the new one called 'Oh God, Yes.' Just for reference. :)

I was working on this as I was ill earlier this week, so that's probably where the slightly depressing tone came from. I'm sorry I haven't updated in such a long time. Writer's block too did overcome me, and now I think I've overcome it.

Quicksand

I've always wanted to do a Ke$ha parody, and after a couple weeks of complete lack of inspiration, I found a brief muse.

But this song is titled 'The Great Haitus' for a reason. I'm taking a break from Shrock music for my senior year, probably until Sherlock season three comes out--or, well, maybe for longer than that. My muse has been burning low for a while, even with all your lovely ideas, and I'm ready to expand my music to greater variety and reaches of the genre of singer-songwriter. But this experience has been incredible, and I think each and every single one of you for it.
I'll still be around on the tumblr now and then, to keep up with the new shrock other brilliant artists will create, and might perform another internet concert later on in the year--and I'll definitely keep you guys up to date about my other musical adventures. Hint: I'm in the midst of a big one right now.
