🌞 💓 🌞 💓 Hello my dear friends 🌞 💓 🌞 💓

   An epic, one hour and a half long adventure, this week is coming from Japan and one of my favourite balearic producer Max Essa. It's the sun-kissed sound of Balearica for which he's probably best-known and reflecting Max's “constant desire for summer skies and proximity to the ocean".
 
   Yokohama resident Max Essa has turned out a reliably excellent stream of musical delights since way back in the '90s – featuring a broad spectrum of sounds from house to cosmic disco on labels including Paper Recordings, Warp Recordings, Bear Funk, Not An Animal, and his own Jansen Jardin imprint.  Residencies in Tokyo’s most beloved and vibe-rich venues – including Bonobo and Aoyama Tunnel – and continues to perform across Japan and internationally.
   His later work, for labels like Is It Balearic? Recordings, went on to be play-listed by the likes of Andrew Weatherall and the late David Mancuso, gaining him a devoted following and DJ bookings around the world.

   Albums for the Japanese major label, Victor Entertainment ('Vacations Never Taken' 2015) and Music For Dreams ('Lanterns' 2018), plus EPs for the Italian label, Hell Yeah! Recordings and a constant stream of remixes, have shown him to be a deeply imaginative and prolific producer.

   2020 sees Max continue his hectic weekly DJ schedule in Tokyo, as well as playing the length and breadth of Japan. Releases are scheduled this year for Hell Yeah! Recordings, Music For Dreams and Jansen Jardin.

He has a new release upcoming  on Is It Balearic? Recordings - Jigsaw Moon/Jules Y Cynthia (inc Eddie C remixes) so keep eye on it.
