Flashback to this: you’re on another random dance floor in Orlando, Florida. It’s probably somewhere around 3 AM on a weekend between 1992 and 1996. The club lights are bright, intense, festive. Your hands are in the air to the piano riffs, bass drops, and jumpy breakbeats.  You and your friends are smiling and dancing and feeling like this night will never end. Remark is on the decks, throwing down positive energy and bouncing back and forth between the DJ booth and dance floor...

I got this set from the Orlando DJ Legends page on my space. This Is a beautiful hypnotic mix that is reflective of the epic sets DJ Stylus used to mix at the Abyss nightclub in downtown Orlando, FL from 93-94 even though most of these tracks are from the late 90's. See my other mixes for sets from the early 90's.

A mixtape that I have had going over in my head for the past 2 years. It wasn't until the recent resurgence in a Facebook group dedicated to the Edge nightclub in Ft Lauderdale, FL. that I got inspired to go back in the lab and finish it.

To the uninitiated, the Edge Nightclub is where I spent over 6 years of my life on a weekly basis. It was here that I grew up and learned that it was OK to be different and it was here that I learned that electronic dance music or EDM was the music that would define who I am.

Over the years many DJ's held residences in this nightclub. Among them were Bruce Wilcox, Dru, Stryke and Mike Sharpe. And it is because of them that I decided to try and learn their craft. For some the Edge was just another nightclub but for most of us it was HOME.While the Edge has changed names and management and is now known as Revolution, the Edge is what I will always remember it by.

This mix is my tribute to that time and place.
