At the invisible intersection of the ancestral and the futuristic, a new form of alchemy emerges: the fusion of voodoo and digital technology. Voodoo with its deep roots in West Africa and its vibrant expansion in the Caribbean and Latin America is more than a religion: it is a symbolic language, a spiritual system of connection with the invisible, with the loas the spirits who mediate between worlds.

Today this language is translated into digital codes sounds and visuals. The preset, as a contemporary artifact becomes a new totem: a pre-established configuration charged with intention, rhythm, and aesthetics. Thus the masks of ancestors are redrawn in video filters sacred drums are replicated in electronic sequences and rituals manifest in immersive experiences

The project Abnormal Frequency represents the musical development of Johnny Psychas, originating from Greece.
In 2018, I began mixing tracks from my favorite artists to create storytelling sets, which innevitably grew  my passion for music exploration and  led me to focus on music production and sound design in late 2023.
The project emphasizes objective sound design, with hypnotic rhythms and layered textures, creating immersive environments  aiming for complete detachment.

The inspiration for the project  came inevitably by thinking  how even a single frequency can put us to different dimentions and states. This is why i  dedicate my project to create this abnormal state of mind for auditory exploration.
