Operating out of his Melbourne home, Sam Hopgood makes a very welcome debut on Particles with his "Lobster" EP. Two originals are complemented by remixes from Australia and Belarus.

An artist with a long history in the world of underground electronic music, Sam Hopgood has been "composing and performing music all his life". Initially under the Broken Spires moniker and latterly under his own name, Sam has continued to make sonic waves. A regular in the clubs of his Australian home, supporting the likes of Guy J, Henry Saiz and Apparat, production work has made its way to Brain Food Records, Lauter Unfug and Wide Angle Recordings. Making his Particles debut, the title track is a high-energy affair with mesmerising lead-line that cascades across nine minutes with verve and vigour. A driving beat and symphony of spot effects add intrigue as the lead synth filters its way into listener consciousness. The result is a strong and memorable debut. Marked by its rolling percussive backdrop and layers of textured pads, "Coping Mechanism" cuts a more restrained figure than its vibrant counterpart. Vocal layers and grooved bassline add structural depth while the beautifully stratified layers of sound provide the perfect antidote for the stresses of modern life to melt away.

Originally as part of the groundbreaking Infusion outfit, winner of two ARIA awards and responsible for shaping the underground dance scene at the turn of the millennium and beyond, Jamie Stevens has gone on to find notable success with his eponymous work. Making regular appearances on Mitch Alexander's uber-cool microCastle imprint as well as Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and John Digweed's Bedrock, Stevens has continued to shine a light on his relevance and longevity within a notoriously fickle industry. A remix of Rudy's "All Things Fade" in November 2019 marked an impressive Proton Music debut as a reworking of "Lobster" continues the pattern for Particles. Bringing back the much-loved breaks genre of yesteryear, a gloriously rolling groove supplies the perfect backdrop for key elements from the original to glisten in effected and reimagined fashion as they pan across the stereo spectrum. Rising and falling with ease, Stevens' "Break in the Shell Remix" coruscates across its near 7-minute journey with attention to detail and immaculate sound design in full effect.

Michael A has been at the forefront of the underground industry since a 2012 debut for Stereofaza. A staggering 900 production credits later and the Belarusian continues to dominate with a vast array of music signed to the likes of Mango Alley, Balkan Connection and Sudbeat Music. Furthermore, his own Genesis imprint continues to represent an impressive vehicle for his own music and a host of others. Late 2013 and early 2014 saw a Particles debut as part of the "Fall" and "Winter" compilations, while 2014's "Behind the Moon" and 2017's "Sapphire" saw full EP's grace the catalogue. Remixes for GMJ, James Monro and Kynan Cosma showcased a different side to Michael A's production skillset as he now returns to the label for the first time since late 2018. His remix of "Lobster" carries the same melodic intensity as the original as a clicking and popping percussion encases the track in a crisp rhythmic shell. Building hypnotically, familiar refrains evolve effortlessly alongside a swathe of effects and additional melodies from the Belarusian's imagination, exploding into life at the mid-point and beyond.

Lautaro Fernandez - Constance (Ian Dillon Remix)

The latest release from Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Dany Dz to the label for his debut EP. Since first appearing on the progressive music scene just over a year ago, the Argentinean artist has notched standout releases via 3rd Avenue, Droid9 and Strangers Beats. Now following a well received remix for Future Avenue, Dany debuts on Dopamine White with ‘Stolen Dreams'.

Beginning with the title cut Dany crafts a groovy, atmospheric slice of progressive house . Free and flowing from the outset, its rolling low end is perfectly contoured, providing momentous swing while clattering drums and wispy effects fill in the framework. Atmospheres continue to rise across the first act, perfectly shifting energy into the main break, where a quirky arp and phasing noise unite for a powerful crescendo and driving drop.

The companion piece ‘A New Dawn' caps off the EP with a similarly groovy ethos. Once again backed by a well carved foundation, it's a wave of driving percussion and intricate effects which push momentum forward. Hazy overlays rise, adding a unique musicality, while distant sweeps and atmospheric swells segue into the break. As the centrepiece evolves so to does it's emotional appeal, eventually melting down to a warm glow as a rush of noise sparks a purring final act. It rounds out a stunning two track offering from Dany Dz, who makes an excellent Dopamine White debut here.

Jiminy Hop - underground music producer from the exotic Altay region settled down in Russia’s northern capital - the foggy Saint-Petersburg. Starting his DJ career in 2016 inspired by David August’s Boiler Room mix Konstantin keeps on growing as an artist, mastering his brand sound and producer flair.

Besides the “Jiminy hop” - his main project, made his appearance at Dyo Atoma together with Sam Scheme doing mostly progressive house, deep house, melodic house and organic house recordings. Also Konstantin is one of Krasa Rosa - electronic musical project from Saint-Petersburg.

The vast popularity and love was brought by US, Argentinian, Mexican, Dutch and German audience as well as Russian musical “market” where he drops plenty of interesting projects in different genres.

His production has taken him to collaboration with such labels as Thunderlab Collective Music, Melody of the Soul, Meanwhile, The Soundgarden, RADIANT, Balkan Connection and more. Since the spring of 2022 , he has been a resident of the australian label MEANWHILE and the track "Johlin" really took off and made it to the 1st place at TOP 10 PROGRESSIVE HOUSE! Also in the summer of 2020 the track “Brachistochrone” took 1st place in the top HYPE TOP 10 PROGRESSIVE HOUSE.

So the DJ’s huge talent has pushed him straight to success and his tracks and remixes are now scattered worldwide with the support of the famous Sébastien Léger, Nore en Pure, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Alex O’Rion, DJ Ruby, Sahar Z, David Hohme.
