MindTrip Podcast episode 58th welcomes Steven Petit aka Border One for his debut mix. The Belgian artist has amassed an irrefutable reputation in his home country and beyond since the release of his first 12-inch record in 2015. SInce then he released several EPs on labels such as Knowledge Imprint, Setaoc Mass’ SK-eleven, Freddy K’s KEY vinyl imprint, the infamous Token Records as well as his own Border One Records. MindTrip Podcast 058 - Border One

When people demand that the techno scene should be more diverse, it can mean many things. On the one hand, line-ups should reflect the LGBTQ+ communities that helped birth the scene. On the other hand, the music should be varied and interesting. Justine Perry stands for diversity in both respects, pushing a timeless sound of deep and hypnotizing grooves as well as advocating for more inclusion and the facilitation of safe spaces. The young DJ and producer's passion for the craft allowed her to firmly establish herself in her hometown of Paris and beyond, playing clubs like Rex Club, Khidi or the old Griessmühle in Berlin (RIP). She also graced many of the most prominent radio shows Europe has to offer like Red Light Radio Amsterdam, Hör Berlin, Rinse FM or Clubbing TV and has released on lables like DNC Limited, HET or Postdynamic. Now relocated in Berlin, Justine is eager to focus on new artistic endeavors like Art bei Ton and help promote more female artists.

Scanning out the deeper layers of the four-four spectrum, the spaniard’s RYC offering takes us for a pulsating ride across heavily delayed dub atmospheres and steely industrial scapes, via off-kilter corridors of sound. In her aspiring career, beginning at age 16, Lindsey Herbert has continued to drift towards the trippier realms of techno, constantly honing her craft as a DJ and getting involved with the thriving scene in San Francisco. Fast-forward to 2022 and Lindsey has truly become a recognized name in her city and beyond, in large part thanks to her unique signature sets— true journeys that explore alternating soundscapes laced together by dark, deep and heavy textures, as well psychedelic elements and ethereal melodies; and now her ever-growing list of original productions as well. With tour dates that have brought her to international venues playing beside top name DJs, she is an artist to watch.

Lindsey’s hard work over the years has paid off, gaining her residencies with San Francisco’s Robot Ears for six years, and more recently becoming the newest member of Direct to Earth in SF, as well as earning a spot on the roster of Berlin-based agency, Point Collective back in 2016. She has played coveted gigs in Detroit, Chicago, Athens, Istanbul, Mexico City and throughout Germany, as well as her debut in the legendary Tresor Berlin and Gate Club in Batumi, Georgia.

Lindsey’s debut in the production realm was in September 2018 with a remix of Martyn Päsch’s track ‘Sacred’ on KVLTÖ Records. Her debut solo EP was released in 2019 on LA-based label Ascetic Limited with a remix from Motionen. Her latest releases came out between late 2020-present and consisted of her single ‘Lucid’ on NECHTO Records, ‘Dark Matter’ on Planet X, ‘Vertigo’ on Rave Code, ‘Until We Meet Again’ + a remix of Gabriella Vergilov’s ‘The Love Anthem’ on Chicago’s Northern Parallels, a remix of BRÄLLE’s ‘Feathers for Bones’ on Märked Amsterdam, a remix of Motion Symmetry’s ‘Aquarius’ on No Way Records + a remix of Kota Kira’s ‘Candlelight’ on Re:Mission Entertainment. In 2021 Lindsey released her first track on vinyl, a remix of Nate Manic’s ‘You Will Not Ruin Me,’ and additionally she has her first solo vinyl EP on the way in September 2022. On the way is a single on Crisis of Man, a remix of Rhombic on Arido Records, a remix of Joshua Calleja on Northern Parallels, a solo EP on Planet X , + much more!

With a self description expressing a priority to make the crowd move, his music does not fall short of its intention. 
Forward thinking in its conception rendered highly functional in its implementation, Border One’s music finds middle ground in an increasingly polarized musical climate for the genre; whether it be through his selection as a DJ or his technicality as a producer. 
Considering this, his release catalogue seems only appropriate. 
He has released EP’s on Knowledge Imprint, Setaoc Masse’s SK-X, his own Border One Records, Freddy K’s KEY vinyl imprint, and the infamous Token Records to name a few.

://about blank is a multi-room club by Ostrkeuz S-Bahnhof in Friedrichshain. It's a short walk from Salon Zur Wilde Renate, and like that club, it's a lightly renovated re-purposed building with seemingly endless nooks and crannies. There are two main dance floors inside, one tent outside and in the summer DJs play out in the garden (this is open in the winter too, often with a bonfire going). 

The music policy is open-ended but mostly focused on house and techno, with occasional bass or disco nights. The overall atmosphere is gritty, and the parties often go well into the following afternoon or evening.
