An emerging talent of prominence hailing from Mexico, Lokier, as a DJ & producer is cutting a stream into the estuaries of techno, industrial, EBM and electro afixed with new wave, and its denounced varieties. While running the gamut of Berlin’s underground, from off-location raves to Panorama Bar and Tresor, her breech into the European circuit, although clandestine, has seen Lokier gain familiarity, further expounded through spots on Rinse FM and Red Light Radio. Lokier’s diversity in style throws down an array of dramatic soundtrack moves for the dancefloor, banging beats, weirdo synth, and power electronics. Having sets marked down in Robert Johnson, New York’s Good Room, Amsterdam’s Reaktor parties, Rex in Paris, and Berghain’s Säule. Lokier has also been in several parts of the world including North America, Europe, Asia, and soon South America. Enjoy!

In the early 90s, techno hits Japan. Surprised and intrigued, Takaaki Itoh was impressed with this sound. This unique style of beats revealed the gateway to a world of underground music in Japan, something he had never heard before.
Surprise slowly gave way to addiction when Takaaki Itoh heard the sound of such artists like UR, Derrick May, Axis, Hardfloor, Sven Väth, Harthouse, Warp and Rising High. 
Finding out he just couldn't get enough of it, in 1994 Takaaki Itoh began to organise his own techno parties in Norioka Iwate, having success by providing fantastic line ups.

In 1996, he decided that it was time to start making his own tracks, so he went out, purchased the vital instruments and began producing. 
After sending out 3 finished tracks to various labels, Electracom UK made the first contact with him, and followed to release his first track. This moment was something he will never forget, as for the first time in his life he was able to finally release his own record. 
Then several releases followed and he began to appear in DJ charts and magazines all over the world.

Takaaki Itoh's Japanese style of techno is purely unique, underground and nothing that had been heard before in Europe. 
In a couple of years, he became recognized as the most underground and expected japanese Techno DJ.
Takaaki Itoh has now taken the next step and started his own label Wols, whilst keep playing in great venues wolrdwide.

BIO:
There are few musicians who manage to explore the convergence between techno and experimental as successfully as David Letellier.
Known as Kangding Ray, he has been producing for almost a decade, releasing his music exclusively on Raster-Noton and Stroboscopic Artefacts.
The aesthetic domains of these two labels epitomizes Kangding Ray’s complex sound—it’s an aesthetic that tests boundaries, evolving tirelessly in its exploration of texture, rhythm, and sound design.
Letellier’s foundations in rock and musique concrete give his music a vitality and uniqueness that has won fans the world over, from discerning avant-garde–electronica listeners, all the way to devoted clubbers.
KR has also been known for remixing artists such as Battles on Warp, Ben Frost on Mute, or Inigo Kennedy on Token.
Those who have been following Letellier since his debut album, 2006’s Stabil, will recognize not only his meticulous and constantly developing approach to sound design, but also the conceptual gravity behind his releases.
Through a string of recent EP’s and albums, culminating with the critically acclaimed “Solens Arc”, KR showed his ability to keep his artistic approach while delivering direct and powerful club-leaning tracks and darkly cinematic soundscapes. On 2015’s “Cory Arcane”, he pushed the limits of his sound even further, relinquishing standard rhythmic structures and conventional tonal models, he delivered what is perhaps his most sophisticated release yet; a raw and visceral universe, allowing a more fluid dialogue between soul and machines.
The forthcoming “HYPER OPAL MANTIS” for Stroboscopic Artefacts opens a new era for Kangding Ray, where he will explore the tension between the natural and artificial, the body and mind, which are central themes in electronic music in general, and Techno in particular. The means of creation, focused around technology and interactions with machines, contrast with the emotional response to sound, the mystical ritual of collective dancing, and the ethos of liberation and tolerance embedded in the culture it has produced.
As he describes it himself in a recent interview : “I’ve been evolving since a couple of years at the outer fringes of the club culture, where it overlaps with different experimental and avant-garde genres. While i entend to continue to explore that zone as a free maverick, i also wanted to give something back to the scene, something strong, beautiful and functional at the same time, while retaining enough personality to be exciting.”

Ephemeral Distance was started in 2020 as an alternative way of approaching others and understanding oneself. Techno music is seen as a means of communication, a way to travel into space-time, and a starting point for an evolution process.

://about blank is a multi-room club by Ostrkeuz S-Bahnhof in Friedrichshain. It's a short walk from Salon Zur Wilde Renate, and like that club, it's a lightly renovated re-purposed building with seemingly endless nooks and crannies. There are two main dance floors inside, one tent outside and in the summer DJs play out in the garden (this is open in the winter too, often with a bonfire going). 

The music policy is open-ended but mostly focused on house and techno, with occasional bass or disco nights. The overall atmosphere is gritty, and the parties often go well into the following afternoon or evening.
