Two of Anjunabeats’ most prolific talents return, both riding high on the ABGT350 wave as ilan Bluestone & Spencer Brown join forces for a formidable new EP.

Named after one of ilan's resident felines, the one-two punch of ‘Pooperling’ fuses together Spencer’s progressive sound with ilan’s infamous ‘tronce’ plucks, whilst the title track ‘Gatekeeper’ - a crowdpleaser from both ilan and Spencer's gargantuan ABGT350 sets - continues in similar fashion whilst embracing more haunting elements. An artist who took 2019 by storm, Damion Houchen (aka Genix) kicks off his year with a fearsome pairing in ‘Ba55 Camp / Rave Daze’, the latest excerpts from his Anjunabeats Worldwide 09 compilation. Damo’s latest double-header is a nod back to the classic rave scene, evoking the sounds conjured by artists such as The Future Sound of London, Underworld and Leftfield.

Inspired by his world record-breaking ‘highest altitude DJ set’ at Mount Everest’s base camp last year, Damo goes into further detail on the experience behind ‘Ba55 Camp’ - “To stand in the Himalayas feeling so small amongst huge mountains was something I will never forget. It was overpowering, overwhelming and really puts everything into perspective. It was an opportunity to clear the mind, have no worry or stress and to admire what our planet has to offer. I dedicated my track ​‘Ba55 Camp’​ to this experience”.

The Anjunabeats rave resurgence continues, as two of our label stars head deeper into the world of industrial dance music; Genix & Grum see ‘The Light’. 

Emerging from their album campaigns, ‘The Light’ became a feature of sets for Genix (Damion Houchen) and Grum (Graeme Shepherd) during their respective world tours at the start of 2020. 

Grum’s ‘Deep State’ album saw the Scottish producer revel in classic trance nostalgia, while poignant songwriting found support from the likes of Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren and Kryder. 

Meanwhile, Genix ‘Anjunabeats Worldwide 09’ mix cemented his place at the forefront of the techno trance sound; high intensity stripped back club music that reverberated around the O2 Arena in Prague during ABGT350. 

With a nod to Brothers in Rhythm, ‘The Light’ is a bruising statement record from two of the scenes most exciting talents, celebrating the modern club minded sound of Anjunabeats.

Andrew Bayer & Genix present their debut original collaboration, ‘The Test’, which was first heard on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Volume 15 compilation.

Never one to be pinned down by genre, Andrew Bayer has produced some of our label’s finest works, including ‘From The Earth’, ‘Superhuman’, ‘Signs Of The Fall’ and ‘Open End Resource’.

‘The Test’ is Bayer’s third Anjuna collaboration of the year, following ‘Black & Blue’ with ilan Bluestone, and ‘The Launch’ with Cosmic Gate. He’s been locked in his studio working on new original material, but found some time to create a ‘20 Years Of Anjunabeats’ mix, featuring some of his favourite selections from the label’s history.

A year on from the release of Anjunabeats Worldwide 09, Damion Houchen, aka Genix, has cemented his place at the forefront of modern tech-trance. He released ‘The Light’ with Grum in the summer, and has been a regular feature fixture on Anjuna’s live streaming schedule. 2021 will be another big year for Damion, with much more new music on the horizon.
