Bantwanas is a collective of South African producers, songwriters and musicians collaborating to bring top-quality African house music. At ten members strong, the collective contains five vocalists, a drummer, a guitarist, a pianist and is spearheaded by the producers of the group: Ryan Murgatroyd and Blanka Mazimela. 

Marking their Anjunadeep debut with ‘Dingane’, Bantwanas fuse traditional African tones and vocals with contemporary dance beats. After their recent success on labels including All Day I Dream and their own imprint Bantwanas Kollektiv, the South African group prove themselves to be at the forefront of the Organic Afro House movement. 

Alongside the original, Berlin-based producer Powel and Soweto native Fka Mash stamp their mark on ‘Dingane’. Powel utilises the polyphonic rhythms in his remix showcasing why he’s released on All Day I Dream, Do Not Sit On The Furniture Recordings and Stil vor Talent. Fka Mash pays homage to South Africa’s diverse range of musical styles that have seen him supported by Black Coffee, Kid Fondue, Jullian Gomes and Sébastien Léger.

A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations EP series returns for its nineteenth instalment, featuring Sascha Braemer, Mr. Sosa, Sinca, Moon Kyoo, MXV and Kaisland.

Kicking off the compilation is ‘Bad Behaviour’ from Berlin-based DJ and producer Sascha Braemer. Best known for his tracks ‘Caje’ and ‘Raoui’, Braemer’s decade long tenure has seen him released on labels including Get Physical, Kindisch and Stil vor Talent. Pairing Dom Fricot’s vocals with plucked synths, Braemer’s latest marks an exciting Anjunadeep debut.

Next up, Mr. Sosa, a British producer with releases on Last Night On Earth and Misplaced Records to his name, lands on Anjunadeep with ‘Euphoria’, a single showcasing his emotive production style. 

Based in Montreal, Sinca marks her artist debut with ‘Mancora’ - a euphoric track that leads with percussive-laden grooves and bright piano chords. Sinca’s latest affirms her positioning as an up and coming DJ and producer. 

Also marking his first release, South Korean producer Moon Kyoo touches down on Anjunadeep with ‘Between The Suns’. Leading with cascading melodies and pulsing basslines, Moon Kyoo’s latest showcases his detailed productions reminiscent of acts including Lane 8 and Ben Böhmer.

An intricate blend of intertwining synths and delicate chords, UK-based producer MXV delivers the emotive track ‘Only Want you’. MXV’s delicate sound design has seen him release on labels including Eat My Hat Music, Mango Alley and ICONYC.

Rounding off the compilation is Argentinian / US trio Kaisland with ‘Let The Rain Fall Faster’. Blending layered vocals with ‘80s-inspired synths, the trio demonstrate their chemistry as songwriters and producers.

‘Infinity’ is the third EP in two years from Naarm/Melbourne artist Juno Mamba (real name Vinci Javier), following June’s ‘Freedom’ and 2020’s critically acclaimed ‘Light Echoes’, which gained support from tastemaker DJs including TSHA, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Bob Moses as well as Annie Mac and Sian Eleri at BBC Radio 1.

Out today, Juno Mamba debuts on the London-based electronic label Anjunadeep with ‘Blue Light’. The single is taken from his EP ‘Infinity’, out November 3rd, in partnership with Australian label Soothsayer. 

‘Infinity’ is about the infinite gratitude Vinci has for love and for the women in his life that taught him the meaning of love. A love letter to those who made him the person he is today, with each chapter conveying a formative experience.
 
He details: “I hope this music will encourage people to show love for one another because life is a short journey, and the world can do with some right now. Like with all my music, it’s intended to be contemplative and reflective with the hope of unifying us to celebrate life. For me the memories we create will live beyond our physical life.”
 
Opener and first single ‘Blue Light’ is a slow burning, euphoric dance track dedicated to the feelings tied to youth and first times. “My first experiences going to underage discos was otherworldly,” Vinci explains. “Being surrounded by friends, strangers, lights and loud music was pure joy. There was a moment when someone who I’d been thinking about for days approached me and at that moment, life could not be better. I wanted to capture that youthful and euphoric energy in this song. Sonically I was guided by my beautiful memories of this time. The vocals were written by my friend who was with me that night at the underage disco.”

‘Infinity’ follows this year’s acclaimed ‘Freedom’ EP, which has collected over 700,000 streams and extensive airplay from BBC Radio 1, with lead single ‘Siargao Dreams’ featured as their ‘Chillest Record’. The next chapter of Sunny Lax's storied career begins with his 'Emerald EP', out now on Anjunabeats.

One of our most beloved artists, Levente Márton, aka Sunny Lax, has been part of our family since 'P.U.M.A / Cassiopeia' in 2006. “Back in those days you had to send CDs to labels in the post,” Márton says. “I sent ‘Cassiopeia’ and ‘P.U.M.A’ to nine or ten different labels, and Anjuna loved them.” Above & Beyond played ‘P.U.M.A’ four times in a row on their Trance Around The World radio show, and Armin van Buuren subsequently made ‘P.U.M.A’ the Record Of The Week and featured it on his ASOT Yearmix Album in 2005. A star was born.

Since then, Sunny Lax has grown and flourished alongside Anjunabeats. “Back then I produced 140BPM uplifting trance, and we did that together for six years,” Levente says. “But then everything started changing around 2011.” Spearheaded by Above & Beyond, ilan Bluestone, Oliver Smith and Sunny, a cleaner, more progressive trance sound emerged.

Many of Sunny Lax's productions in this era drove the 'trance 2.0' sound forward. 2015’s 'Enceladus' is a fine example. “That’s still my most popular track,” he says. “So many big artists played it at huge events.” The success of ‘Enceladus’ was unplanned. Levente remembers messing around in his studio, relaxed, happy and with no intention of producing a hit. “Sometimes when you’re in that state something pure and effortless comes out,” he says. Its place in Anjuna legend was cemented by Sunny dropping 'Enceladus' to 20,000 fans at Above & Beyond's ABGT250 celebrations at the Gorge, alongside fellow Anjunabeats stalwart and good friend Genix.

In recent years, Sunny's trademark melodic trance sound has been a cornerstone of Anjunabeats' release schedule: highlights include 'Solar Plexus', 'Losing It', 'V.I.B.E.' and 2020's 'End Of Our Time EP'. He's headlined shows across the globe and has been a regular guest at Anjunabeats' label showcases, plus recently supporting Above & Beyond on their Anjunafamily Reunion Tour and at their Group Therapy Weekender London festival.

The 'Emerald EP' marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Sunny Lax - featuring three tracks that Sunny has been extensively roadtesting on tour, 'Ayahuasca', 'Emerald' and 'Dance With Me'.

"The past few years were a rollercoaster for many of us, with all its difficulties and beauties. In these times as an artist I had the chance to slow down and pay a little more attention to my inner voice. When the world was a little too mad around me, I escaped into the music - into the heartwarming melodies, and when the world became too quiet, I filled it up with loud rhythms.

Production duo anamē deliver their remixes of Lostep's seminal record 'Burma'. 

anamē is the new project from Marcus Schössow (previously one half of gardenstate) and Thomas Sagstad. The pair have had a busy 2022, debuting with their emotive collaboration with Above & Beyond and Marty Longstaff, 'Gratitude'. 

A jubilant vocal ballad and a tough, dancefloor filler, 'Gratitude' has cemented itself as a future classic for both Above & Beyond and anamē. Marcus and Thomas subsequently dropped their own 'AM' and 'PM' mixes of 'Gratitude' on Anjunabeats, with All Day I Dream star Sébastien Léger also contributing a rework.

anamē have also released 'Influencer' (with BLR and Robbie Rise) on Anjunabeats over summer 2022, and a stirring rework of a dancefloor classic in Conjure One and Sinéad O’Connor's 'Tears From The Moon'. They've now turned their attention to another one of their personal anthems, Lostep's 'Burma': anamē's 'AM' remix was premiered by Above & Beyond at their sold-out Group Therapy 500 celebrations in Los Angeles.

Lostep first released ‘Burma’ in 2004 on Global Underground Music, which was then remixed by Sasha and included on his iconic Involver compilation. The original and Sasha remixes became dancefloor staples, racking up plays from legendary DJs across electronic music: John Digweed, Gabriel & Dresden, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, BLR, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Nick Warren and Lee Burridge to name a few.
