ADIDSUM001 - 1  A1  Bedouin - Flight Of Birds

Last year Rebirth Records celebrated 10 years with the release of the acclaimed compilation selected and mixed by Larry Heard. We are now happy to present 'Rebirth 10 Remixed': a special collection, available on a limited 2x12” vinyl edition, and three digital parts, including brand new versions of some of the classics of the label in the first ten years.

The first part includes remixes from Red Axes, Rampa, Modular Project and VVV. The hot Tel Aviv duo Red Axes bring their trademark new wave sound to a tropical dimension remixing Robytek's 'Luna Africana' combining unusual melodies of bells, chimes and perc drums. The Keinemusik boss Rampa is back with a killer remix of 'Deep Musique' by Pasta Boys Feat. Osunlade, definitely another dancefloor peak time cut on Rebirth. The italian duo Modular Project add their electronic-balearic touch to the Blond:ish vocal anthem ‘Wizard of Love’, while the misterious bass producer VVV reworks another classic on the label, ‘Crossroads’ by T-Polar, giving us a sublte but heavy deep and futuristic synth work. 

The cover sleeve is a work by Emil Schult, who has created a painting especially for the Rebirth's Anniversary. Emil is known for his work with electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk. Schult's collaboration with founders Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider saw him actively involved in writing lyrics as well as generating the design for some of the band's most famous covers.

Bedouin was first featured on the label's 2015 Summer Sampler with ‚Flight Of Birds’ helping build their reputation as master music makers. 

Following on from this is their first full EP on All Day I Dream. 
Each track casts its own unique spell. One thing Rami and Tamer know is mood. Opening with 'Straight To The Heart' beauty and hypnotic vibes abound. Sounding as good pitched up as it does at it's patient pace, it's groove ignites the dance floor as well as the heart. 

‚The Way Home’ takes it's time to build textures and layers creating a more somber mood. 

The EP is close out with the vocals of Eric Volta on ‚Sight’, perfectly complimenting the overall mood of the release.

Gab Rhome launches his own label in an effort to simplify the process of releasing music, thus returning creative flexibility and freedom to the productions themselves. Rendez-vous is a personal pursuit, coming at a stage of reimagination for Rhome. Launching in collaboration with his debut live set, RDV will simply be a place for Gab's art in its purest form.

The Changing Lanes EP leads the charge, with two tracks rooted in Gab Rhome's journey in dance music thus far. Harnessing a career's worth of world influences, RDV 001 is the start of a new story.

After All That pays tribute to the classic Gab Rhome groove - a housey beat overlays soothing vocals, reigning in the ropes for the b-side. A charming melody brings light to a tune driven by a sad and reflective message, with Gab himself providing the vocal chops.

"The pace of the vocal in After All That is inspired by RnB, soul music and general warmth. In fact, it's a bit of a contradiction to In The Rain There's No Lane." It's a tune for the calmer moments, with a groove that allows thoughts to flow freely. "The goal was to go for the cream on top of an espresso: packed with flavor, comforting, and a goosebump-based cure for a sleepy soul."

After All That will be release on the Changing Lanes EP [RDV 001] on September 20th.

The year was 1987, and the sun was setting down on the golden sands of Eastern Sierrra Leone, a small, but enthusiastic group of locals were gathering, high spirits and joyous laughter could be heard, and the assembled congregation began to express themselves through the divine coupling of dance and intoxicating drink.  At first the sound was distant, but as the cool evening breeze wafted in, the pulsating throb of drums and rhythmic percussion grew louder, crystalline melodies floated inwards, and the burgeoning crowd began to dance with vigor and vitality.  It was at this point that I was approached, almost caught unaware, as a porcelain figured girl, with long black hair, beauty like I had never seen before, came right up to me, her eyes wide and full of expectancy, drilling straight into my own pupils.  She held out her hand, so small it really dwarfed my own, and a small red pill rolled gently in the very dip of her palm.  Her lips un-pursed as she raised herself slightly onto tip toe, and whispered into my ear, “would you like to share this with me?”…….

Unified in dance, and spiritual energies, we can all achieve a higher more active state of consciousness, and transcend useless politics and class division.
