This is a cry for help from someone trapped in a cubicle.  It is the roar that comes after years of humiliating scenerios where someone is forced to swallow their pride to keep their paycheck.  It is the complete realization of the waste of the workplace.  Working with people you have nothing in common with at a job that offers no real fullfillment.

Since I can remember there's always been an invisible force looking to help me. First there was Santa Claus watching me from some strange Polar Vortex and then handing out rewards based on behavior. Then there were hidden school records and transcripts that could harm or help and followed you around for life.  There was God, who was invisibly working behind the scenes and would hopefully show up if things want way south. There were credit scores and corporate evaluations.  There were talent scouts that would be supposedly lurking in the audience during live shows.  Always large invisible forces deciding your fate.
So why not a huge invisible hand that one could call on to lift them up above all the other invisibe forces.   An invisible hand that could lend a hand to the average man.  The Invisible Hand is Coming to Set You Free.

The Invisible Hand

The inspiration for this tune was truly the groove that was created by delaying the rhythem guitar in time with the bass and drums.  It was so strangely hypnotic I felf inspired and spilled out a story into the mike about a RED BUTTON that would completely change your life.  Totally opposite way of working for me but a total joy at the same time. No real meanings to weigh things down , just playfull delay.

Suddenly Everything

It always winds up this way.  The royalty get the Palace and the people fight over scraps in the street.  Simple song here from the perspective of a broken man standing on a cold hungry street outside of a Palace and wondering what life is like inside.

This was totally improvised based on an improvised bass line over a very basic beat.  So many people are suffering mental illness these days it seemed a hot subject.  I remember being superparanoid many times when I first smoked pot.  How you could feel all eyes on you .  It is amazing what the brain can do.  Many memories of other parties when people would do too much upper and think everyone was coming for them.  Odd topic for a song but I think it works with the bass and guitar.

The country has fallen into chaos after the financial genius that was holding it all together woke up to find his young beautiful girlfriend had dissappered.   She was his , "Reason To Succeed."

A deep dark dive into despair.  People taken down by medical bills and forces beyond their control forced to survive on the streets.  Turning to whatever gets them through the day ,  especially a new drug called, "Bus Exhaust."

A bright and bouncy little tune about the life of a new trainee in the field of Secret Agent.  The big problem is that although the work is long and hard and very dangerous ,  he can never brag about what he does........yikes......painful silence.

Old cassette demo i restored .  Separated the tracks ..added a bunch of layers and tried to bring it back to life.  It seem to have some new meaning with all this doomsday talk .  And it is still true...I have a lot of faith in tomorrow.

That nightmare when everything is a mechanical routine. All the same people doing all the same things over and  over like Ground Hog Day or that Jim Carrey movie.  A beautiful neighborhood where everyone seems to be a robotic characature.

Imagine waking up on the wrong bus.....in a strange place.....with a new name.... surrounded by weird people..... nothing else to do so you just start grooving.....walking....talking.....and generally fooling around.

This is a story song about an unquenchable thirst for things and thrills.  All she ever wanted is what she could not have. There is some futuristic sci-fi mixed in with the story in that this person wants to much to have everything they wind up completely alone in a future devastated version of Earth.  This song definitely celebrates the joys of simple pleasures.

What She Could Not Have

Mellow acoustic americana type ballad about someone coming to terms with their loss. Realizing that they have traded everything and wound up only with a hand of beans. Although they know what has happened , they are in denial and hoping that noone actually confronts them with the truth.

Imagine a cool summer evening in San Francisco 1964.  All your Hippies have gathered for an apartment party.  The mood is easy.  The times are crazy.  Your buzz is peaking and in  walks Delilah Lilac.  She immediately casts a spell of love over the room.  The room is lifting off into space and it is propelled by her amazing positive spirit.  She has nothing but endless love for everyong and is always the focal point of attention.  All negativity is gone and life is magical again.

A simple message to myself from way back.  Found it almost like a message in a bottle. It said , relax , let go, live .... you are working and maybe even dreaming too hard.  Then slowly the message ....Connect .... seemed almost like a new mood elevating pill you could buy at a drug store.... and the song was not only advice from a future me, but quite possibly a tv commercial for a new drug called .... CONNECT.

It's 2035. The machines have taken over. There is no hiding. They are everywhere and relentlessly control everything. One man dreams of a get-a-way.  One man thinks, "Maybe I Could Run."

Another tale of salvation through belief.  Another song about how a crack of light breaking through the darkness shined a light on a path.  And how the ordeal of being lost and found led to another level of wisdom .  "Let It Come To You" is a very real story and is a philosophy that works.
