A career spent DJing across the globe was the catalyst for Damian Lazarus’s latest project – Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons. Masterminded by Lazarus the album brings together a wide assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players from around the world. Taking inspiration from Lazarus's Lazpod series, Get Lost events and Day Zero festival in Mexico, this is music for deserts, jungles and sunrises.

Kicking off in LA, Lazarus was joined at the production controls by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence) as the album moved to London, and then final recording sessions completed in Mexico.

The resulting album, ‘Message From the Other Side’, is a revelation. It runs the gamut from the wonderful Qawwali-flavoured techno of the single ‘Lovers Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)’ to the African-tinged house of ‘Sacred Dance of the Demon’ to the dense dark ambient of ‘Inner Core’, and a whole lot else. It’s a truly original piece of music from a DJ-producer always driven by a desire to break new ground and, as importantly, have fun with such adventures

Hi everyone, @atish here. Those who follow me closely know I rarely release live recordings, sharing mostly studio mixes. For live recordings I have released, there's an internal debate weighing my discomfort with putting out something I'm not totally happy with against requests or promotional value of having it in the wild.

But everything about the night of The Den put me in the zone: I could DJ without thinking since tracks I chose sounded pristine on the KV2 Audio sound system, the incredible vibe from a 2000 person floor of dance music enthusiasts energized me as performer, a 1-3am timeslot between Mark Slee and Martin Buttrich meant I could musically toe the line between deep and driving.

And I was wearing my favorite shirt (it's funny how these little things matter). For this recording, there wasn't the typical internal debate. I'm excited for you to hear it, and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did playing.
