I keep walking, keep talking, like there's some goal I'm supposed to reach...
But no one's ever told me what it is.

Is it a promotion? A purpose? A pat on the back?

(House Darkens)

Or is it something I lost before I even knew I had it?

Why is my house, occupied only by myself, so big?
Why are there TWO rooms upstairs?
One of them is completely empty! 
I don’t even know what it’s for!
There's a table set for two... 
But I always eat alone.

It’s like someone built this place for a version of me that never existed.
Or maybe one that should’ve existed... but didn’t.
Everything feels . . .  placed. 
As if it's all waiting for someone who never showed up.
Am I supposed to find them? Or become them? Or forget they were ever real?

I don’t know what I’m supposed to be anymore.
A guard? A guide? A JOKE?
I don’t even know if I’m me.

Everything feels... misaligned. 
Like I took a wrong turn I don’t remember taking.

It's funny that I don't even know what I'm missing.
I just know that I am.

S: * maybe there's a light switch somewhere.
S: * feel around the walls until you feel something that isn't wall.

[After walking enough, the human sees a red dot glowing in the darkness. Interacting with it turns the lights on, revealing a large caged Tobys. The red dot turns green, and releases the Tobys.]

S: * did you find some non-wall?
MADDIE: * Hello, hello, HELLO, MY LITTLE STAR!
M: * I was wondering where you SCAMPERED off to, mew~!
M: * It seems that you've walked straight into my little game.
M: * Did you miss the SIGN? "Beware of TOBYS"?
S: * the lights were off.
M: * Damn, DAMN, DAMN IT!!!!!
M: * (...I was proud of that sign.)
S: * a sign is, quite explicitly, NOT a wall.
S: * and i told the human to look for non-walls.
S: * so... it's more the human's problem for not noticing it.
