Absolution - The Void [FC006]

Having consistently played the most illustrious, largest clubs and festivals right across the world, in January Perc took the challenge of taking his diverse sound to The DBA, an old school, traditional British pub turned underground rave space over on Cheetham Hill Road in Manchester, with a 3 hour closing of The Lounge.

This was what happened, with a few words from Ali himself:

"The January event was my first time playing at The DBA in Manchester, but I had heard from a few DJ friends that it was a mad place to play.


My plan was to start with quite a house party / afterparty type of vibe (like the DJ Sandy track at 35 mins) and then see where the crowd wanted to go from there. 


The start of the set is filled with a lot of layering. Riffs and vocals like the DJ Funk (RIP) cuts at 11 mins layered over drum loops from other tracks. This seemed to keep the energy level building and then I could slowly bring the bigger riffs and hooks and some harder acid tracks as the set got a little tougher and faster.


After that it was just a case of seeing how far I could take the crowd and how far they would take me. I remember a lot of cheers, people charging forwards when certain tracks dropped and some attempts to dance on tables." - PERC

Patrick Gräser, better known as Answer Code Request, has carved out a distinctive niche in the techno landscape with his hybrid musical style. His innovative approach, characterized by a fusion of pad-driven harmonies, intricate breaks, and an industrial tone, has set him apart since his emergence on the esteemed Ostgut Ton label in 2012.
This breakthrough led to a prestigious residency at Berghain, further cementing his influence in the scene. Gräser’s work, including various releases and remixes for notable labels such as Ostgut Ton, MDR, Dolly Deluxe, and Monkeytown Records, has garnered widespread acclaim.
Gräser’s journey from a forest workshop near his hometown to the forefront of techno is marked by his wide-ranging musical tastes. His nights, spent mixing records from Hardwax and Delirium, contributed to the development of his characteristic sound, a blend that includes elements of jungle, drum ‘n’ bass, Detroit, IDM, and UK bass. This unique amalgamation of styles is evident in his early releases on Music Man and his own ACR imprint, showcasing a talent that transcends traditional techno boundaries.

Absolution is a Buenos Aires based techno Dj/Producer shaking Argentinian dancefloors with hypnotic melodies and groovy basses. His first steps as producer were made in 2015 releasing 'Unklare EP' for the italian label Funghettocrew, reaching the top of its ranking with the track 'Kalon' in the first weeks. The following releases came very quickly, publishing 'Revelation EP' for the local label Simplecoding Recordings where he became one of its residents doing remixes for the well known Michel Lauriola, label boss Juan Trujillo, and spanish artist Cyklos, followed by many strong supports. In the present he's about his 8th release looking for a year full of dancefloor based productions with an even more progressed sound.
