Summer is over and it's autumn outside. You will listen to a mix of almost 3 hours, which is peppered with deep basses and spherical sounds. The transitions flow like butter and the mood is perfect. Responsible for this is our friend @heyoka_berlin , who introduces the cozy season for you.

Together with his collective Mystic Creatures (@mystic-tales-berlin)he throws pretty awesome parties in Berlin and other cities. We met him this year in Vienna when we organized an event together in our beloved Fluc. We are glad to have met you!

Das letzte Open Air

Das Wetter könnte nicht besser sein. Strahlender Sonnenschein auf einen blassblauen Himmel und das Ende Oktober. Wir leben in verrückten Zeiten, doch dass hat auch sein gutes. Ziemlich spontan haben wir uns dazu entschlossen ein kleines Open Air zu veranstalten. Wieder einmal an der legendären Brücke unter den Bahngleisen am Flussufer. Innerhalb weniger Tage wurde alles Notwendige organisiert und zusammengetragen. Eine Anlage und Licht wurden gemietet, Werbung über die entsprechenden Kanäle gemacht und ein der Kühlwagen mit Getränken aufgefüllt und bereitgestellt. Gegen 15:00 Uhr begann der Rave. Im schwindenden Sonnenschein wurden feinster Downtempo & Slow House zum besten gegeben. Anschließend folgte eine Melodic Techno Einlage. Währenddessen füllte sich der Platz mit immer mehr glücklichen und ausgelassen feiernden Menschen. Die Musik wurde der Uhrzeit und der hereinbrechenden Nacht entsprechend angepasst. Die Stimmung blieb gut, erst als die Polizei kam und der Bass herunter gedreht werden musste, kam das gesamte feuchtfröhliche Treiben ein wenig ins Stocken. 
Doch trotzdem ließen wir uns unseren Spaß nicht nehmen und genossen Kollektiv das letzte Open Air für dieses Jahr. 

Der Podcast von Kiki Kokolores erinnert an eine Jungle Expedition. Ein Großteil der Instrumente klingt außerordentlich organisch und die verwendeten FX lockern die Struktur zusätzlich auf. Über eine Laufzeit von 86 Minuten morpht ein Track in den anderen über. Diese Übergange sind zwar hörbar doch wirken so integral zugehörig, dass sich alles anfühlt wie ein ausgedehntes Musikstück.

Freiburg based Maria Theresia von Eberg has been on the constant rise for the last couple of years playing numerous festivals and venues in Austria and Germany.

I asked her to describe her journey, and this is what she mentioned:

"Why you ask me? Because emotions have a way of finding their way out a half-Italian soul. 

So, better, moderate them by transforming them into melodic tunes and deep baselines - heavy and melancholic, with driving energy or in lighthearted moments even cheerful, sweet-talking you into taking a break from the everyday-hassle. At least, I hope so"

Eigentlich könnte man an dieser Stelle den Auszug aus dem Intro von Schleichcast°34  für sich sprechen lassen - so als Einladung zum Reinhören. Doch das würde über die Tatsache hinwegtäuschen, dass es in den Worten von Alan Watts um die ganz großen Fragen des Lebens geht und jene Zeilen in genau dieser Caption etwas aus dem Kontext gerissen wurden, um dir den Klick auf den Play-Button schmackhaft zu machen. Wait, oder brauchtest du genau diesen Spoiler, weil du jetzt total neugierig und hyped auf eine kleine Philosophie-Stunde in diesem Set bist, zumal sie dann erwartungsgemäß sogar von lieblichen Downtempo-Sounds untermalt sein wird?! Es könnte ja sein, dass du dem Schlag Mensch angehörst, der einfach 24/7 Hintergrund-Musik braucht. Musik für den Normalzustand quasi (fühlen wir, you’re not alone). Doch selbst wenn du weder solch ein above-average music nerd bist, noch ein ausgeprägtes Interesse für Philosophie hegst, dann stehen die Chancen gut, dass du diesen Schleichcast lieben wirst. Denn er ist sehr gut. Merci vielmals an Simon und Marvin Tober (@tobertober-1) für dieses Brett!

~Zeit für ein schleichendes Frage & Antwort Spiel~

>>Wer seid ihr und woher kommt ihr?
Moin, wir sind Simon & Marvin Tober. Im Herzen sind wir Brüder – auf dem Papier allerdings Cousins. :) Wir kommen ursprünglich aus der schönen Stadt Hildesheim, die jedes Jahr erneut um den Titel der kleinsten Großstadt Deutschlands kämpft. Marvin wohnt aktuell noch dort und Simon seit Ende 2017 in Dresden. Trotz der Entfernung haben wir jeden Tag Kontakt.

>>Wie kamt ihr zum Auflegen?
Wir haben damals zusammen die ersten Cluberfahrungen gemacht und hatten von Beginn den Wunsch, selber zu veranstalten und aufzulegen. Während Simon schon erste Erfahrungen am Plattenspieler mit Drum n Bass Vinyls sammelte, interessierte sich Marvin für Eventplanung. Später haben wir einander gezeigt wie was geht und die Symbiose war perfekt. Als uns etwas später noch Simon Köhler, ein guter Freund von früher, an seinem uralten Laptop zeigte, wie das Ganze auch digital funktioniert, war es um uns geschehen. Ab 2010 haben wir laufend veranstaltet (damals „Alle Tanzen“) und auch aufgelegt. Uns wird ein Händchen für abwechslungsreiche und bunte Sets nachgesagt.

>>Was hat euch für das Set inspiriert?
Es gibt kaum einen Podcast von uns, in dem Alan Watts seinen Weg nicht hineingefunden hat. Sein Talk „Thoughts Are Like Clouds“, aus dem wir Snippets im Intro verbaut haben, war auf jeden Fall der Anstoß. Außerdem mögen wir es, schon fast vergessene Tracks mit neuen zu komponieren. So hat es einer der ersten Downtempo Tracks von Tony Casanova (Atric), sowie auch unveröffentlichte Tracks von Glenn Shaw & Joe Carl, mit in den Podcast geschafft. All in all geht der Mix eher nach vorne. :)

>>Welche Ziele als Künstler:innen wollt ihr noch erreichen?
Anfang 2020 haben wir zusammen mit Felix und Max Bödder einen gemeinnützigen Verein in unserer geliebten Heimatstadt gegründet. Mit unserem wdlnds e. V. möchten wir nicht nur Musikveranstaltungen auf unserer eigenen Open Air Gelände durchführen, sondern vor allem allen
Kulturschaffenden und Freigeistern im Umkreis und überregional die Chance geben, mitzugestalten. Aktuell sind wir rund 50 Mitgliedern, worauf wir sehr stolz sind. :) Unsere gesamte Energie fließt aktuell in dieses Projekt und das ist auf jeden Fall auch der Plan für die kommenden Jahre.

After a short trip to snowy and cosy Stuttgart to picao, the desire for sun and sea has grabbed us... . 

So today we welcome you from Florida's pearl Miami. There, of course, we had to meet Adrian aka Magician On Duty. A talented artist and manager who also brought attention to our scene in Europe with his original podcast series of the same name (https://soundcloud.com/magicianonduty/sets/journey-series). At least for all those who like organic deep house. In the course of time, Magician On Duty developed further into a label with releases by, for example, https://soundcloud.com/thomas-gaarthuis, https://soundcloud.com/david-hasert and many more. Here, too, the original spirit is preserved.

When we heard the mix for the first time a few days ago, we were a little surprised and speechless at first. Downtempo? Adrian? Basically, we had expected something else, namely his signature sound: Organic Deep House. But the first impression was deceptive. After just a few minutes, he increased the tempo to his usual level. 

His set is an exciting 'afterhours' journey into the thicket of melodic and hypnotic electronic music. In over three hours of music, he has packed in pretty much everything he has in the way of tools and hidden gems to make this mix a special one. Enriched with instrumental and vocal passages like the classic "I can't get no sleep" by Faithless, he even gives the recording a feeling of being at home and nostalgia. Alongside all the positivity, however, he doesn't forget to implement a fair amount of depth into his set. Thus, he daringly but skilfully keeps the balance between lightness and ecstasy. All in all, the mix has become an absolute cream puff, which we definitely don't want to miss anymore: Namely timeless, individual and with a lot of love for detail.

If afterhour sounds, then here. Although, the mix really does suit any time of day or night.

Besides the mix, we didn't miss the chance to ask Adrian a few questions that we don't want to withhold from you.

Q: What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

A: I liked music since I was a child, it was sort of my refuge... listening to tapes from Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Queen and more. I guess I got more exposed to music, in general, while I was breakdancing with my friends. We were listening and training on funk, jazz and hip hop.

Q: What makes a good "afterhour"?

A: The soundtrack to an early morning party can be incredibly powerful, helping to create an atmosphere of excitement and energy. Whether it's downtempo or something more energy driven, the music can help to set the tone for the party and create a sense of unity among those in attendance. 

What makes it good? The ability to connect with everyone around you. That feeling when you look around and everyone is on the same frequency. If we are connected, we are all on the same journey. 

Q: Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

I think this is one of my favorite sets that I have recorded, as it has all the ingredients necessary to facilitate a fantastic journey. There are so many ways that you can approach an afterhour set, I don't think there is a certain formula or format that you should use, I think the artist has the freedom to pursue any mood or genre as long as It creates a connection between people.

Sit back and relax! Because a journey awaits you that is made for an afterhour.
