Un frenesí que no cesa desde la industrialización del siglo XIX y de repente, ha parado. El frenesí que llevó a Airbus a fabricar el infame Concorde, empujados por la aparente necesidad de ir más rápido, y que fue el origen de un símbolo de nuestra era por la rapidez en su estrepitoso fracaso. Esa necesidad insana, de querer llegar antes para realmente no ir a ningún sitio, se ha querido plasmar tanto en el single como en el vídeo que lo acompaña - firmado por Pau Pitarch - que realza que lo realmente importante se encuentra más en el ahora, en el momento presente y en la riqueza de la ruta, que en la satisfacción de haber llegado.

"New Balance" is the first solo EP by Shelly on Abundance. This collection of tracks, crafted between 2018 and 2021, opens doors to a myriad of soundscapes and rhythms. The starting point for this musical exploration lies in the genres of bass and electro, two fundamental elements in Shelly's creative journey during their beginning period. Their ability to blend elements of the organic world with electronic music is prominently displayed in this EP, creating an auditory experience that challenges club conventions.

The release ranges from more dubby tracks such as Estac to more energetic ones such as GUI41, which features Marina Herlop’s voice. All tracks are defined by a sub-frequency presence, essential in the producer’s work.

This EP will be premiered at MIRA Festival the 11th of November 2023 in a new live performance by Shelly. Consisting of this material and also previously unheard tracks.

Shelly is one of the co-founders of Abundance, RBMA 2018 alum, and also part of the management team in the Barcelona venue El Pumarejo. Previous musical work includes collaborations with Hamill Industries (including a live set premiered in Sonar’19) and part of the sound design of the inaugural concert by Marco Mezquida at AI and Music Festival 2021.

Barcelona-based creative platform ABUNDANCE is set to release their highly anticipated first compilation ‘FLORILEGI I’. Meaning a ‘collection of flowers’ in Catalan, this series of works aims to shed light on some of the most exciting sounds coming out of the city’s multi-faceted musical ecosystem. 

From B4MBA’s industrial dancehall version ‘Charmed Riddim’ and the driving, hardware-heavy techno of ‘H13’ by ellian, the modular tension and release in glxgls’ ‘Brr Brr’, to the dubbed out two-step of ‘cute nenas love groovin’’ by AINES & ALVVA. These fourteen standout tracks, plucked and arranged, showcase the wide range of genre cross-pollination occurring within the Catalan capital. 

ABUNDANCE is dedicated to championing local talent, serving as a non-profit artistic collective, record label and event organisers. This inaugural compilation is the beginning of a new chapter, connecting the dots from the diverse corners of the creative scene, expanding possibilities for collaboration for the future.

The Berlin based producer Brauer teams up with the artistic collective VVAA and electronic music platform (ABUNDANCE) to present the dark and techno-driven melodies. MOND EP is the result of a european alliance - the underground voices of Barcelona and Berlin.

For the occasion, Brauer’s sounds are accompanied by a filmic journey directed by Pol Rebaque and powered by VVAA. In this film, a naked prince wakes up from his dormant state: he’s immersed in an obscure climate, whose darkness is at times interrupted by flashing lights. Fifty years have passed since the first man touched the moon, and yet, we have no potency left from that, but lots of crippling nostalgia and a hint of anxiety. It’s through a million chaotic ballads that the little prince grows alone in Mondgestein. In his journey towards salvation, he is only accompanied by his fragmented representations.

We’re so distant from the first encounter between the solitary moon and the first man who walked its soil, who, floating in the gloomy lunar atmosphere, dreamed of radical futures and utopic landscapes. With the earth as his audience, the prince is both spectator and actor of the most entropic migration: the one that left the dirt of our planet to reach the dust of space. Within the ballad that is Mondgestein, both the moon and the little prince impatiently wait for another encounter, a new reunion.
The two, after all, share a sense of incompleteness.

@pouch-envy, the promiscuous alter ego of Per Pintaric, draws influences from 90s jungle and techno, Baltimore club, ballroom sounds and their eerie, personal dreamscape.
Pouch Envy’s club tracks strive to bend the idea of genre and leave much to the listener’s imagination and interpretation. Per’s alter ego allows him to engage with his lived experiences in a more mysterious way and dig through unexplored sides of himself. By experimenting with quick changes in BPMs, melodic ideas and genre, their production and mixes relate to the same sensibilities as Gen Z—fast-paced, undefined and suitable for the diminished attention span that digital life has brought to the younger generations. Pouch Envy made his debut at Bossa Nova Civic Club this year and has since been producing throughout the quarantine. Per’s production has spanned from experimental hip-hop and shoegaze rock to classical movie scores, though his alter ego finds himself deep within the dance realm.

The release is accompanied by three remixes from Barcelona based producers: @antidronesquad(who have recently released their debut EP 'Pax Digitalis' on Sin Hilo), @4ire (with releases on Glacial Industries) and @top74.
