The Tardy Return from a Beautiful Nowhere

Shlagga and Israfil are from Marseille. Free-spirited as it can be, their alternative sound is impossible to categorize as one type. That is their strength : a uniqueness delivered to you like an uppercut. They shake the rules, with this mix, but also with their work in the Metaphore Collectif, organizing some of the best parties of the “citée phocéenne”. Just a few days before their participation to the Positive Education Festival in Saint-Étienne, they just did what they do best and offered us a futuristic and extreme mix. Careful, you’re about to enter the vortex.

Making music is always a journey. As is listening to it. French Dj and producer Myako is keen on taking you on a trip every time you hear what she does : mixing genres, twisting it to make you feel as much as possible, using every tool (or almost) in the electronic palette – from trance to ambient, dub, industrial dancehall or breakbeat. A few days before her playing at Positive Education Festival in Saint-Étienne, and a few hours after the release of a new Ep from Innoxia – her psychedelic side-project in collaboration with Basses Terres – Myako offered us a mix as haunted as it is haunting.

"It’s about healing your heart at the spa,” says vocalist Ángel of Mexican trio @m3thm4th. Accurate. Until the 30 minute mark, that is, when the devil himself rudely wakes you from your spa treatment and drags you down to hell – whip cracks, crackling flames and all. Everything you hear is an original Meth Math production, topped with telenovela samples distorted to the point that they sound otherworldly. It’s like you're trapped in a dreamstate and can't quite wake up. It’s awesome.
