Emma Dowdy is one of the many faces of Belgian producer, DJ and visual artist Gaspard Hers, also commonly known as DJ Würm. The sharp-cutting and yet fragile tones of the Bilirubyn EP sing to us about a radical shattering of the very borders of our known bodily reality, taking us on a journey deep inside a shadow forest. And just when we may be tempted to think that we can’t stumble any deeper, that we've gone as far as one can, the rusty beats pull us ever further, into the limitless core, where little creatures spin the threads of darkness into erupting, golden beams of light. Their melody then twists our arms into yellow ribbons, our blood mingling with theirs, pouring into shiny streams like water seeping through our own pointed teeth. Lost in the furry basses, no names remain to be called.
