City of Drums Drumcast Series #36 Agent Greg Guestmix presented by DJ Nasty Deluxe

I am Nasty is the first release by DJ Nasty Deluxe on our new label. The DJ and producer based in Macedonia delivers a very great and varied EP with his work. The Tietletrack I am Nasty comes with a powerful kick drum and fat basses. With the typical Acid sound of the TB 303 and the small but fine effect gimmicks, the track convinced us right away. In addition to the original version, there is also a tech-house remix by Arthur van Dyk, as well as a remix of the track Violet Sky by Roland Romer and Ill Boy Phil. Arthur van Dyks tech-house interpretation comes with a cool beat. The swinging bass groove and the perfectly staged vocal are definitely the two main actors here. The small synth and percussion gimmicks make the remix a well-rounded affair. The Roland Romer & Ill Boy Phil Remix of Violet Sky will send you on a real trip. The wild percussions, the crazy synths and acid lines as well as the sophisticated arrangement convinced us right away. Statement: An absolutely strong release, with three tracks that convince everyone. The single is now available in all stores and on all well known streaming services! A sure must have for every DJ Playlist

The lead track from our Open Your Eyes EP out 7th Dec on Phobiq.

London-based duo Melody’s Enemy make their Phobiq debut with a stellar EP entitled “Open Your Eyes”. Evident from the outset is their attention to vocal work and their abilities in combining “song” writing within a dancefloor framework. The title track “Open Your Eyes” kicks off the release with feel good techno crunks and fizz in abundance, juxtaposed with an exquisite vocal track reminiscent of 60’s rock psychedelia. Next up is “Sermon“, a regal techno stepper with added soul. Layers of emotion and warmth intertwine with the vocal in beautiful melancholy. The EP finishes with “ What Kind Of Future?”. Futurism is a theme often embraced in techno, but with all the uncertainty in the world is it ever questioned just what kind of future that will be? Sonically this is a stark inquisition of our world future featuring dark, abrupt stabs, driving arps and thought-provoking vocal shots.

Tiger Stripes follows up ‘Baby’ with a quintuplet of aces on Drumcode.

Death, taxes and Tiger Stripes crafting dancefloor weapons for Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul labels. Not many things in life are certain, but we’ve always counted on Mikael Nordgren knocking it out of the park. Last year’s ‘Baby’ EP was a label highlight, while in March he released ‘Sneaking Hotdogs Into People’s Pocket’, which mined the spirit of ‘90s-drenched euphoria and was a standout on Truesoul. Now he’s back dropping heat on DC.

Taking the retro vibes of Hotdogs into more techno-orientated territory, he bunkered down with his family in the Swedish forest, setting up a makeshift studio in the kitchen. From this, the five-track ‘Into Desolation’ was born. Beginning with ‘Recluse’, it combines steely bass rumbles with old skool stabs and a heady vocal from Mikaela Rahmqvist. ‘Basshunter’ is propelled by galloping bass and a catchy undulating melodic loop and is brilliant in its effective simplicity. ‘Into The Early Night’ is a pearl, comprising deep compression-heavy bass stabs, perky percussion and a rousing vocal, making it a winner at festivals so far this summer, including Awakenings. ‘Ignition’ fires on all cylinders with a wicked arpeggiated hook and pounding drums. ‘Ride’ is a nostalgic nod to the past as trance-inspired chords marry deliciously with crunchy future-focused techno.

Here is the remix pack of Drunken Kong's recent second album, Where We Start. Drunken Kong have come a long way and have been on fire lately releasing everywhere from Terminal M, Octopus, Stereo to of course Tronic. We have recruited some of our favourite producers to rework six tracks. We are very pleased with the outcome as every artist delivered high-quality remixes that compliment the originals. This project will be released in three parts featuring remixes by Christian Smith, Andres Campo, Ken Ishii, Mario Ochoa, Secret Cinema, Ramon Tapia.
