Describing the rapid strides Alec Dienaar and Genex have been making in the Dutch scene lately as 'coming up quickly' would be an understatement. The DJ/producer duo, based in Haarlem and Utrecht, has consistently released high-quality tracks for some time now. From Alec's exciting edit of Freestylers' 'Push Up' to two notable releases on Valor, and their upcoming performance at Intercell, the potential and passion these two have are very notable.

We're delighted and honored to present their inaugural mix as 'Basil Smash' – a project that truly showcases their unique combined sound.

Chlär Boiler Room X Glitch Festival 2023

My latest foray into deep, driving techno. Control is four tracks blending elements across the techno spectrum of dub, hardgroove, prog, and hypnotic techno. Cutty tools for peak‑time sets and late nights.

The mix I've curated starts off with some dark hypnotic techno grooves before building into more powerful sounds, inspired by the likes of Colin Benders.

PREMIERE: Sonic Rain – Final Approach [SELECTED028]

On September 19, 2025, Mac Declos will release his second album, MTY-013 « Nothing Stands Still », on Mama Told Ya. Following the acclaimed MTY-007 « Hard Work Always Pays Off ».

Nothing Stands Still is a sonic artefact: a double-vinyl album composed of 12 timeless tracks.

Eleven pieces are produced solely by Mac Declos, with one co-produced alongside Anetha. The album also features unique contributions from Mac’s mother, Doona Rolls, and Mac’s dad, Eric Declosmenil, adding emotional depth to the project. While music is often elusive and ephemeral, with Nothing Stands Still, Mac Declos set out to create an archive of the future that transcends time and trend, an echo meant to endure. Once again, Mama Told Ya reminds us: Music remains.
