Over a century old, a WW11 nurse in the south pacific, financier of my first guitar and music lessons, enjoyer of the riesling, maestro of the sewing machine and knitting needles and most importantly my best friend and recently departed grandmother, Eileen McDonald 1914-2015. We hung out every week and talked about anything and nothing at all; a weekly routine coffee date, the last of which concluded the day before she checked out. Sharp as a tack and independent as ever until the very end, she broke the bond in the most reasonable of ways. From the days of horse and carts and no electricity to being able to jump on Skype and keep in touch when I was travelling. She had a 100 years of knowledge and a seemingly infinite capacity to learn more until the very end. I thought I would share the song I wrote for her funeral a few weeks back. Enjoy, Rohin
