For years he has been regarded as one of the leading figures in Electronic music and continues to push the boundaries between the weird, wonderful, obscure and danceable, alongside the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Optimo, Trevor Jackson and more. He slots firmly into chic French fashion culture and gritty, underground musical eclecticism at the same time. Over the past couple of years his label has released music from far and wide: pop obscurities from Israel, punk funk from Lithuania and experimental electronics from the likes of Mutado Pintado, Golden Bug and Margot. He delivers over an hour of energetic fun for Ransom Note.

New mix comes from C.P.I aka Marc Piñol & Capablanca. Marc Piñol is a true pillar of Barcelona scene, having released tracks or remixes on local imprints Struments, Black Money, Nitsa Traxx, Side Up Works or Hivern Discs, alongside head-honcho John Talabot under their project Quentin. Also dropped remixes on foreign labels such as Multi Culti, Les Disques De La Mort or Her Majesty's Ship. His first personal ep although was on Discos Capablanca, Hugo Capablanca's very own label. Based in Berlin and true figure of Berlin Underground scene, Hugo is praised as much for his dexterous eclectic sets than for the curation of his label or his productions.
The mix here is an extract of a set they dropped in january at "About Blank" in Berlin, dive in !

it's crazy to be in probably the only country in the world that is partying full on right now. i don't think i ever played this much at home. 

now weekend of 5 gigs makes you go deep into your crates and folders. this is the opening of the night at opium club on August 14 2020. lots of music here from some 4-5 years back, a territory that is somehow usually forgotten. lots of these tracks appeared in old mixes, but it felt good playing them out again. have a ride.
