It took us a while but now it‘s time to boost the first AS USUAL MUSIC release by our all-time companion and good friend AANTIGEN. The man behind this alias is a free, open-minded music lover and moreover a musician with an unconventional and real artistic approach. Releases on labels like Bar25 Music, Acht or Möhre Rekorder marked his path so far. „California“ comes with two lively and pro-active originals and a collaboration with AS USUAL label head BEE LINCOLN, all made for the love of dance aesthetics on club floors.

„California“ is a highly anticipated work with a special sense of serenity, where cozy warm deepness meets subliminal tension and a little extra portion insanity through crispy sounds. While everything  is flowing, a subtle acid line sneaks in and offers sub-harmonically a dirt-factor.

The heart of AS USUAL MUSIC beats especially for twisted and freakin’ tracks, which AANTIGEN provides with „Somebody Like You“ - a nasty club tune for ripping the floors. An extraordinary giantly-curved synth sequence drives the madness to the peak, stimulated by whipped claps and a low-end on point, as the backtracked voice stabs are just the leftovers of this wild ride with its hilarious taste. Big love for this one! 

The third one „Front Of House“ turned some rounds until it found its calling; attracted by the slightly sawed synth bass of this track, Bee Lincoln twisted AantiGen’s modulated hook and got it ready for a trip. After (no) sleepless nights, here we are with the collaborative advanced mix, flushed by A’s inglorious idea and B’s dry’n tight drumming skills. Ending up in partly acidic-like sounds and emphasizing basses, the result is a stripped-down pumpin’ and shakin’ track on a quite oblique position, as usual as we love it. Welcome Aaron! <3

AANTIGEN is back with another high quality release on our label. Showing once again his splendid artist-being, he cuts through styles (except his own) and breaks boundaries of genres with apparent ease. Consisting of two authentic tracks, this release is a signature for him like us as well, as usual. 

„Bats & Ice Bears“ is settled on a sizzling background noise and transmits a great warmth in all its sounds. Quite reduced come the drums on a perceived slightly fast pace, providing the basic for a wide-spread sweetness all over the track. Prettied up with birds’ twittering and girls voice fractals, it’s a tune for melting away.

On the flip side, the second track „It’s Like“ appears rhythm-wise with an oldschool vibe, which is a raw and danceable statement to contemporary club music. The smooth roughness is underlined with some acid sounds. Bang!

Music is 4 Lovers continue their Global Lovers compilation series with GLV5; featuring 8 brand new tracks from a cast of all-Russian artists.

Up first on the comp is a groovy, space-filled microhouse track out of Moscow from Vanilla Ninja resident, Adamov; followed by a big tech house bomber from Toolroom artist, Alex Twitchy.

We seasoned a little poppy flavor over the compilation with an infectious tune from BLENT; which is a collaboration project between Cedric Gasaida, former lead singer of Azari & III; and Russian producer Victor Karzalov. The VA then takes a minimal turn with a deep groover from Moscow-based duo Bypass.

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Jax D lights up the compilation with a stick of dance floor dynamite; proceeded by Mik Kartl’s jungle-inspired track.

Highway Records bossman and a veteran of Moscow’s underground, Mike Spirit delivers a massive tech house tune ready to smash dance floors all over the world. The compilation ends with another Moscow-based veteran, Yasha F, who slows it down with a raw grinding tune that features cuts from the infamous movie of the late 80’s, Robocop.

Global Lovers V5: Russia is set to hit the digital shelves on Friday, June 5, 2020.
