Robert Babicz has begun his music career exactly 30 years ago, namely under the name Rob Acid and the legendary acid house release „Happy answer“ on Injection Records. The track is probably the happiest acid track which has ever been released and has developed to an iconic piece of techno music which even led to Youtube instruction videos where dudes explain how to reprogram the track.

Besides the remastered original you can find two pretty different remixes by Wigbert (Second State, SCI + TEC), the Wigbert Remix which is a hybrid of a modern production and 90s midi chain romance plus the Wigbert Future Remix which bems the original into the year 2033.

French producer, December, returns to Tresor with An Accident In Favor Of Human Life, the second part of his Transform project, which continues the exploration of themes such as hybridisation and the boundaries of the self that were undertaken in June 2023's What Remains of Us? 

Transform Part 2 finds December increasing the intensity of his output as the Industrial and electro influences in his musical crucible come to the fore adding a punching tungsten toughness to the beats, welded and riveted to myriad other sources including post punk, ambient, and musique concr&egrave;te adding a more melodic and emotional edge than the darker hues of Part 1. 

The product of this is a collection of juddering and staccato pieces that call to mind steampunk as much as the glittering sci-fi most often invoked by electronic works. 

As per the first instalment, the cover art of In Favor Of Human Life continues the ongoing creative partnership between December and visual artist Marie Qu&eacute;au whose photograph appears to show a human face that straddles the boundary between the familiar and unsettling. 

When Parts 1 &amp; 2 are listened to consecutively, as a complete work, elements in one half reverberate into the other revealing a refined pattern and a landmark work by an artist coming to a new peak of creative power.

Finally putting out this recording of last year’s set at Waking Life - it's been a quiet spell for me recently, but following the closure of Planeta Manas feels good to break it with this release.

Playing between Nídia and Cormac, I was faced with a mood and genre-defying challenge, ending up playing from 80 to 170bpm including polyrhythmic drums, gushing psychedelia, conjuring both luminous and ominous soundscapes. Graced with a critical mass of enthusiastic stompers getting lost against the most beautiful sunset at Praia stage.

Thank you WL for inviting me to play, and thank you Ivan for inviting Planeta Manas crew to attend this year - a sweet moment to replenish our energy to say farewell to our planeta.

Thanks to everyone for the flattering words and who convinced me to release - my dear friend and agent Keira for the encouragement and patience, to my bug in crime Sasha, the amazing sound and light technicians, some sweet strangers at the festival, and in particular Sybil, the most prolific mix maker whose dedication to craft is ever inspiring.

This set was birthed at Adventura, a Psytrance festival in the Malaysian jungle. The river flowed and splashed behind our stage, and the animals sang over our sounds. We cocreated and channelled with nature. 

We dance, we lay, we journey.

Thank you to Charissa and Yoong for creating the space where we could let go together. Thank you to the whole Adventura organisation team for bringing psytrance back to the Malaysian jungle. This is only the beginning.
