This instrumental is inspired by the sound of the eighties. I kept the electric bass fairly prominent in the mix, adding a chorus effect above 200Hz to enhance the string sound.
I used several tracks of a Stratocaster to create the main texture of the composition, incorporating arpeggios and strummed parts with chorus and delay effects.
The drums are programmed and based on the Downbeat Kit available for the AKAI MPC here: www.mpc-samples.com/product.php/291…e-downbeat-kit/.
The drum samples are organized in round-robin groups to give a more natural feel to the drum parts.

This dark and scary instrumental with a somewhat clumsy and nonchalant off-beat is inspired by Ophiocordyceps unilateralis and how it would feel for a human to be slowly taken over by this parasitic fungus; Feeling the sensories grow, slowly losing control over your free will and movement, constantly surprised and swept off your feet. My favourite part is the outro, it is like having just enough consciousnessto notice the fungus taking away your last remaining control. (the dying of self).
