25.5.2021 / As a relatively new face on Czech scene, Marie Pravda quickly became one of its most acclaimed talents. Her involvement with the night life began behind the bar of Metro club in Olomouc, but as she grew weary of the bar's routine, she relocated to the DJ booth in 2016, then discovering her passion for seeking new music. After moving to Prague she became a resident of Radio Punctum and later a member of Planeta Za resident collective. Recently she became involved in the management of Prague’s Harmless Youth music label.
Her original interest in indie music transformed into love for everything instrumental and psychedelic within EBM and slow electro, soon becoming an avid digger who follows threads of music others rarely stumble upon. With an understanding of DJing as a method of storytelling, or as a chance to guide the audience from point X to point Y, she attains a certain level of melancholia while simultaneously retaining empowerment and freedom of interpretation.

25.5.2021 / Jako poměrně nová tvář na české scéně se Marie Pravda rychle stala jedním z jejích neuznávanějších talentů. Její účast v nočním životě začala za barem Metro clubu v Olomouci, ale jak ji začala unavovat barová rutina, přemístila se roku 2016 za DJ pult a objevila vášeň pro hledání nové hudby. Po přestěhování do Prahy se stala rezidentkou Radia Punctum a později členkou kolektivu Planeta Za. Nedávno se začala podílet na managementu pražského labelu Harmless Youth.
Její původní zájem o nezávislou hudbu přerostl v lásku pro vše instrumentální a psychedelické na poli EBM a pomalého electra a brzy se stala vášnivou hledačkou, která vytahuje hudbu, na kterou ostatní narazí jen vzácně. Protože  chápe djing jako metodu vyprávění nebo jako příležitost vést publikum z bodu X do bodu Y, dosahuje určité úrovně melancholie a současně si zachovává kontrolu a svobodu interpretace.

Swede Peder Mannerfelt makes music that is hard to categorise. And whether producing for Fever Ray and Blonde Redhead or serving up albums and EPs on Archives Intérieures and Hinge Finger, he is fiercely inventive. From experimental tribal concept music like his The Swedish Congo Record to the disassembled and goth-tinged techno rhythms of his latest, Controlling Body, he always pushes boundaries in bold new ways. He is an artist who likes to forget what he knows and go with his instincts, and it has resulted in a body or work that is truly beguiling. 

His mix for our series is just as esoteric. It is a two hour collage that starts of as a voodooistic brew of shamanistic rituals, abstract noise and kinked techno that takes you to a dark foreign world. From there there are some more traditional passages of drum rhythms and wild machine-made sounds as well as diversions into plenty more uncategorizable sonic spheres thanks to tracks from the likes of Pinch, Errorsmith, Vatican Shadow, Machine Woman, Umfang and tens more. It’s music as warfare, as cinema, as experimentation, and it sounds like nothing else out there.

Eugenia is an Italian, Bay-Area based DJ. Through her sets, she works to create a space for vibrant expression and self-reflection. Her selections consist of an intersection of stripped down house, electro, and atmospheric techno, but she doesn’t like to be constricted by genre — rather, by feeling (and a tight groove.) In her day-to-day, she is a medical researcher and poet, curious to draw a thread through seemingly disparate disciplines.

Her Acid Camp mix is influenced by the texture and energy contrast which has been the basis much of her recent work on and off the dance floor: that of the soft/tender versus the sharp/harsh. It features broken beats which have lifted her up in unexpected moments at the rave, and euphoric atmospheres which have rounded out the edges. The femme artists she has had the pleasure of seeing perform and work with over the last year have been a huge source of influence for this mix.

This sequence forms the basis of Van Bonn’s sound. He applies an obsessive focus on detail, enabling him to establish the various layers in the track that create a unique depth to his music.

Based in Berlin and Copenhagen, the producer and DJ Reimut van Bonn is already gaining valuable recognition for his dub techno releases – with his contributions for labels such as Telrae & Brouqade, his remixes for Trapez, and other work for labels such as Traum resonating in headphones and on dancefloors since 2011.

Van Bonn’s instinctive feeling for sound and timing is inherent in every of his dub influenced techno tracks. The wide open temporal tier allows the listener to dive deeply into the different layers and explore for themselves. Mighty kickdrums, subsonic basses and the trademark chords of Van Bonn drive his tracks forward. The development of rich soundscapes is an integral part of his musical creativity. It provides a basis for his sweeping DJ sets to absorb the dancer and transport them into a world far distinct from reality. The relaxation felt in Van Bonn’s smooth tunes highlights the liquid flow of his music. This is occasionally contrasted with the harder, more ecstatic dub techno tracks – a combination that inevitably creates tension. His distinct characteristics define him to be a versatile and impressive artist with the potential to find his way into the inner circle of Techno.

During the first quarter of 2013 the specifically founded label ‘Van Bonn’ will be born and will release Van Bonn’s future music.
