Breaking Through is a two part debut album from Acid James. Both parts are built around a natural soundscape, using recorded samples from James's travels, whilst DJing over the last two years. James's passion for music and club culture still drives the underlying pulse of each track. Since his first EP, inspiration from the organic song of life, features more than ever in his latest works. The album Breaking Through is a euphoric psychedelic experience, with each track taking the listener on their own sonic journey. James's love for electronica grew from a young age. At 12, he was drawn to a song: Flutter by Bonobo, playing the game SSX On Tour. The emotional spirit of genre led to James's fascination with music and DJing. With further inspiration coming from club culture and festivals such as Gottwood and Houghton, as he grew up. Listening to Paranoid London - Eating Glue on the dance floor, the raw squelch of the acid line mesmerised him and later became his signature sound. From his early club days performing disco, afro and house: the 303 kept finding itself amongst his sets. Now the core of each part of the album, his love for acid house is ever present. "Creamy acid baselines cutting through nature's beautiful textures, what isn't more to like," James told NOIDEA. - Part I is certainly that! A refined, untouched, energetic, pulsating sound suitable for the dance floor and your home. Part I really emulates how far Acid James has come.

Acid James, a London (UK) based DJ and producer, has electrified stages at some of the UK's most iconic festivals and clubs, including Gottwood, El Dorado, Egg London, and The Jago. With a deep-rooted passion for electronic music, his career began with residencies at The Buttermarket in his hometown Shrewsbury (UK), to Melbourne's Pawn & Co, and Amsterdam's The Cabin, before leading him to perform at world-renowned venues such as Bora Bora (Ibiza) and XE54 (Melbourne).

A staple in the London circuit, Acid James has been featured in MixMag, Four Four Magazine, and on TSHA's Track ID's and Apple Music Editorial playlist New Dance Music with his single Pound For The Meter. His sonic journey blends electronica, old-school rave, Afro-inspired rhythms, italo-disco, and his own acid house productions. His music has gained additional support from the likes of sim0ne, Just Her, Dom Dolla, Dombresky, and Eelke Kleijn.

In addition to UK festivals and international clubs,  Acid James hosts a monthly show on Brixton Radio, following his takeover of Voices Radio, and has made guest appearances on 1020.live and Reform Radio. His tracks have gained support from industry heavyweights including Damian Lazarus, Sasha, LP Giobbi, John Digweed, Parra for Cuva, Fred P, and many more.

With music premieres from EELF, Les Yeux Orange, and Deep House Sweden, Acid James continues to push the boundaries of the underground sound. His latest release, Global Groovers, is OUT NOW, alongside his remix of Chemical Modulation's track Rescue, with a further remix of Sonic Juncture’s Into The Light on record label Ecliptic Sounds.
