Easing you into 2014, Cadenza Music welcome Sasse to the Source to Cycle podcast.  The Finish DJ and producer is the man behind the excellent Moodmusic label.  Now based in Berlin, Sasse has a huge discography dating back to the ops.  Alongside his productions on Moodmusic, he is also responsible for the Freestyle Man releases as well other numerous other aliases.  His remix services have also been enlisted by labels such as Silver Network, Morris Audio, F Comm, Compost and many more.

Welcome back to the Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast, and this week we celebrate a very special milestone in our podcdcast series, the 100th Source to Cycle mix.
 
Kicking off in January 2012, the Source to Cycle has been a unique mix series, pairing up current club sounds in the Cycle, and a crate digging, eclectic selection in the Source mix.  The Cadenza crew have all contributed, from Luciano to Lee Van Dowski, Valentino Kanzyani to Argy and many more.  We also opened up the podcast to friends and collaborators from the electronic music scenes, and we’ve had some hugely memorable contributions from the likes of Shlomi Aber, Ian Pooley, Rolando, DJ Sneak, Dinky, Jimpster, Stacey Pullen and many many more.
 
And so this week, for our 100th podcast, we welcome back the ever reliable Michel Cleis, on this his second Source to Cycle.  Michel has been an ever present figure at Cadenza, his DJ sets always inspire, and he’s a great great producer in the studio, making music not only for Cadenza but for Pampa and Crecimiento.

This week, our special guest on the Cadenza Music Source to Cycle is Igor Vicente.

Hooked onto the electronic music scene from his teenage years, and inspired by artists like Richie Hawtin, Steve Rachmand and Derrick Carter, Igor created the Wild Family parties, inviting DJs like Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Dinky to play.

In 2011 he set up the Ultrasone project with Vernon Bara, releasing music on Hot Creations and Supplement Facts.  And as a solo producer, Igor has released his music on Mobilee Records and Hot Creations.  Igor is currently busy DJing for Mobilee in Ibiza and beyond, and starts up his new label venture, State of Flow Records in October.

Timo has been a dominant figure on the electronic scene for many years now.  Hailing from the small town of Buckeburg in Germany, Timo was DJing in the local clubs and in nearby Hannover from the age of 15. As rave culture took off in Germany, Timo latched on to this new musical revolution, DJing not only in his native Germany but also around Europe.  Productions followed, and by the end of the 1990s, Timo was a cranking out releases and big remixes for artists like Azzido Da Bass, Green Velvet, Depeche Mode, Fatboy Slim and many more.

A resident DJ at Ibiza’s DC10 for over ten years, and a DJ schedule that covers the world, Timo is currently busy with his label Rockets & Ponies, a newly released mix album on the My Favourite Robot label, and plenty of DJ dates…

Ellen Allien is the DJ, producer and t-shirt designer and all round creative that has carved her own path in the house and techno game. Born in Berlin, Ellen witnessed the fall of the Berlin wall and in the resulting surge of creativity and electronic music culture, soon became an integral member in the growth of the city’s techno scene. With early residencies at Tresor and E-Werk, Ellen laid down her foundations in the city and soon, label management and running parties joined her agenda. Fast forward to today and we see the techno veteran at the helm of one of Berlin’s most iconic labels, BPitch Control, continuing to throw parties and design, all whilst keeping up one hell of a hectic DJing schedule. We are super excited to have the BPitch Controller in the mix for i-D with a very special 45-minute blend of pure vinyl. Press play.

Our special guest on this week’s Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast is Just Be, the cherished British DJ & producer extraordinaire also known as Bushwacka!

Just Be may be a relatively new name amongst the pack, but for certain you could have come across the music and DJ skills of Matthew B AKA Bushwacka! over the years.  Just Be is the latest moniker for Matthew Benjamin, a DJ who cut his teeth on the London acid house circuit, and whose productions have helped shape the electronic landscape, from early works on Mr C’s Plink Plonk label as well as his own Plank and Olmeto label.  Hooking up with Layo Paskin in the late 1990s, the duo had a highly successful career as Layo & Bushwacka, as well as being the essential resident Djs at the now legendary End nightclub in London’s West End.

As Just Be, Matthew continues to release music on labels like Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and Intec, as well as DJing around the world, with particular focus on Ibiza, where he now resides.

Berghain 07 | Function

This latest fabric promo mix is actually the third such session that he has gifted our blog. He's been a pretty frequent player in these parts and he remains very much part of the family, which is why it's all the more criminal that we've allowed more than a year to pass since his last visit. Building his career on the Belgrade music scene, Shoxy got his break DJig for the Circoloco events whilst touring through Serbia. This week's Source to Cycle comes from Andre Galluzzi. Born in Frankfurt, and currently residing in Berlin, Andre appeared on our Cadenza label way back in 2007 with a super release alongside Guido Schneider and Florian Schirmaker. Andre’s career though can be traced back to the early 1990s, with regular DJ spots around Frankfurt and Berlin, and music releases for Force Inc, Plus 8, Cocoon and Ostgut Ton under his belt. Andre currently runs the Aras label, with contributions from himself, Dana Ruh and Johannes Heil....
