Ruby Amanfu is an American recording artist based in Nashville. Amanfu has released seven studio albums and multiple singles. She is known for being one half of the duo Sam & Ruby, whose album was named Associated Press Album of the Year in 2009. Amanfu is also known for her collaborations with Jack White in his all-female band, The Peacocks, and has widely appeared on his critically acclaimed solo albums, Blunderbuss and Lazaretto. Nordic Rituals Season 6 by Jack Essek

Shaka Ponk parfois typographié SHK PNK, est un groupe de rock alternatif et rock électronique français, formé en 2002. Il utilise des éléments de différents courants musicaux tels que le rock alternatif, le grunge, le heavy metal, l'électro, le hard rock, le punk rock, le hip-hop et le funk. Le groupe chante généralement en anglais, en français et occasionnellement en espagnol.

Le groupe est composé de sept membres : Goz, un singe en images de synthèse, Frah (François Charon) et Sam (Sofia Samaha Achoun) au chant, Mandris (Mandris Da Cruz) à la basse, CC (Cyril Roger) à la guitare, Ion (Yohann Meunier) à la batterie, Steve (Steve Desgarceaux) aux claviers et aux samples. They were among the first to fuse house with dub and reggae, thus giving birth to progressive house. They were pioneers in integrating vocals into electronic music.


In 1995, their album Leftism managed to reach the third place in the UK sales chart. In 1999, the album Rhythm And Stealth reached the top of the English charts.

La Rioule des Compagnons du Monde

Ce groupe haut-savoyard de musique néo-folk se définit comme « un groupe qui invente une musique narrative mêlant tradition et modernité et qui vous invite à la fête ou plutôt à la “rioule” ». 
La Rioule des Compagnons du Monde
Il est né en 2016, à l’occasion d’une réunion de huit musiciens bénévoles lors des Grandes Médiévales d’Andilly. 
Le nom initial « La Rioule » a été enrichi en « La Rioule des Compagnons du Monde » pour marquer les thèmes du rassemblement, du voyage et de la mixité. 
Leur premier album, Autour de la lanterne, est paru en 2019 ; depuis ils publient d’autres projets tels que Le voyage d’Andrin (2023) et Les Voiles de l’Amarante (2025). 
Leur univers mêle chants anciens, réinterprétations, créations originales, percussions, vielle à roue, mandoline, flûtes, etc. 
Ce sont les « Compagnons du Monde »: Yoann Pesenti, Louise Anthoine, Lucile Anthoine, Didier Anthoine, Julie Bouchet, Adrien Hage, Zoran Mirodatos, Yann Pegaz, etc. 
En résumé : un groupe festif, enraciné dans la tradition médiévale/folk, mais ouvert au voyage, aux mélanges culturels et à la modernité.

Les Monts Rieurs

Cette compagnie basée en région PACA (à Sainte‑Anastasie‑sur‑Issole, France) se consacre à la création, production et organisation de spectacles vivants, notamment d’arts de la rue. 
Elle existe depuis 1998. 
Son imaginaire est décrit comme « débordant et créatif », avec une énergie joyeuse, et ses productions incluent musique originale et univers visuels marqués. 
Elle se produit partout en France, en Europe, et a notamment emmené ses créatures fantastiques les « Tanarucks » à Macao en 2014, puis à Taiwan en 2020. 
Elle propose aussi d’accompagner des événements culturels pour des communes, associations, festivals, avec prestations sur-mesure. 

En résumé : Les Monts Rieurs sont une compagnie de spectacle vivant / arts de la rue, aux univers féériques très construits, qui réalise des spectacles et animations partout en France et au-delà.

Hasmik Harutyunyan (Armenian: Հասմիկ Հարությունյան; born December 26, 1960 in Yerevan) is an Armenian folk singer. She is the leading member of the Shoghaken Folk Ensemble and directs the Hayrik Mouradian Traditional Song and Dance Children's Ensemble.

The music of the Shoghaken Ensemble is featured on the soundtrack of the film Ararat. Harutyunyan's Armenian Lullabies was recognized by the New York Times as an outstanding world music CD in 2004.

Before performing with the Shoghaken Ensemble, Harutyunyan performed as a soloist with the Agunk Ensemble (founded by Hayrik Mouradian) of Armenian National Radio in Armenia, Europe, and the Soviet Union. With Shoghaken, she has performed in Armenia, France (including a 2006 performance at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris), Germany, Estonia, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and the U.S. (including an eighteen-concert 2004 tour and an appearance at the 2002 Folklife Festival as part of the Silk Road project organized by Yo Yo Ma). In 2008, Shoghaken gave concerts during their second major tour of the US and Canada; the tour coincided with the release of the ensemble’s latest CD, Shoghaken Ensemble: Music From Armenia. Harutyunyan has also recorded with the Ensemble Karot. In April 2009, Hasmik gave a concert of traditional Armenian lullabies at the Giving Voice festival in Wroclaw, Poland, as well as conducting workshops in Armenian folk singing and dancing. In autumn 2009, Hasmik performed in concerts in the USA with the Kitka Women's Vocal Ensemble, presenting the music of Komitas, Hayrik Mouradian, and Armenian lullabies, as well as participating in the San Francisco World Music Festival. In 2010, she performed with Shoghaken and gave a workshop on Armenian folk song and dance in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Harutyunyan graduated from the Yerevan State Pedagogical University and the Department of Vocal Music at the Arno Babajanian School of Music, majoring in opera.

In 2007, their debut album Introducing Etran Finatawa (2006) was nominated for a BBC Radio Award for World Music. In 2008, after a chance meeting at an airport terminal in Berlin, Germany, Raichel and Touré forged a friendship with an intention to perform together in concert. This came to fruition in November 2010 with the duo performing at the Tel Aviv Opera House. The following day they entered a recording studio in Tel Aviv. Joining Vieux and Idan in the studio were Israeli bassist Yossi Fine and Malian Calabash player Souleymane Kane. According to Raichel, the group "recorded a mix of Malian rhythms mixed with Israeli melodies — all originals, but very influenced from both our cultures." This spontaneous and improvised acoustic recording session lasted for three hours and marked the birth of The Touré-Raichel Collective. The group's debut album, The Tel Aviv Session, was released by Cumbancha on March 27, 2012. The group toured in North America, with Amit Carmeli on bass, in March and April 2012. The Touré-Raichel Collective completed a European tour in Fall 2012 and another European tour is planned for Spring 2013.

The Touré-Raichel Collective released their second album, The Paris Session, in Fall 2014. This album was supposed to be recorded in Mali, but political and religious unrest prevented this from happening. Instead, they recorded in Paris, France, informing the name "The Paris Session". Songs on this album are sung in French, Bambara, Songhai, and Hebrew, blending the two men's traditions.

As a teenager, he formed the group Les Recyclés, which he composed. At the age of 18, he left Grenoble for Paris and adopted the stage name of Pep's. For two years, he played on the streets, in bars or on the RER.
Unconvinced by the experience and probably a victim of homesickness, he returned to his native region. In 2001, he gathered musicians around him to form the group Pep's, to which he gave his artist name.
The group then consisted of the bassist of the Recyclés, Philippe Berruyer, his childhood friend, drummer Alexandre Combeau, saxophonist Guillaume Diederichs, gold medalist at the Grenoble Conservatory, as well as the multi-instrumentalist artist Dan-Luc Bicrame. Richard Pesenti, another childhood friend, became the group's manager.
From the great French song, Pep's has kept this requirement in the writing that pushes him to refine each verse.
Alternately tinged with optimism or expressing the doubts of a young person of our time, his texts &quot;connected to the stars"; create atmospheres conducive to escape.
From his love for the masters of groove, he has kept the taste for effective rhythms and catchy melodies.
In 2003, after more than 300 concerts, Pep's recorded his first album &quot;Au sourire de l'âme";. The EP &quot;En attendant"; was released in 2006.Pep's posts the title &quot;Liberta"; on the net. Hundreds of covers of his anthem invade the net: the phenomenon is on the way.
The meeting with Mike Dinca (lead singer of the group Sinsemilia), is decisive for Pep's.
He signed the singer on his label Echo Productions, giving him the support his music deserves.
In 2008, the album &quot;Utopies dans le Décor"; was released.
At the end of 2008, the single &quot;Liberta"; arrived in the stores: it was a turning point for the band.
As soon as it was released, the title invaded the airwaves.
The clip becomes a favorite with both programmers and viewers. 20,000 copies sold in a few weeks.

Après la révolution cubaine de 1959, cette boîte de nuit fut détruite.
Quarante ans après sa destruction, son nom fut repris pour un projet musical, imaginé par Nick Gold de la maison de disques World Circuit et le guitariste américain Ry Cooder. L'idée de ce projet était de réunir dans un même enregistrement des musiciens cubains « campesinos » (soneros légendaires des années 1930, 40 et 50), et des musiciens d'Afrique de l'Ouest. Retenus à l'aéroport de Paris, les Africains ne purent se rendre à Cuba, et finalement l'enregistrement de l'album s'effectua sans eux.

L'album enregistré en 1996, "Buena Vista Social Club", rencontra un tel succès que le groupe fut incité à se produire sur scène à Amsterdam en 1998, suivi de plusieurs concerts au Carnegie Hall de New York.
Le cinéaste Wim Wenders fut sollicité pour les filmer. Il en fit un documentaire, en ajoutant les interviews, effectuées à La Havane, des différents musiciens. The Buena Vista Social Club was a mythical nightclub in the suburbs of Havana, Cuba (located at &quot;Calle 41"; between numbers 46 and 48, in the Marianao district). After the Cuban revolution of 1959, this nightclub was destroyed.
Forty years after its destruction, its name was taken up again for a musical project, conceived by Nick Gold of the World Circuit record company and American guitarist Ry Cooder. The idea of this project was to bring together in the same recording Cuban &quot;campesino"; musicians (legendary soneros from the 1930s, 40s and 50s), and musicians from West Africa. Held at Paris airport, the Africans were unable to travel to Cuba, and finally the album was recorded without them.

The album recorded in 1996, "Buena Vista Social Club";, was so successful that the group was encouraged to perform in Amsterdam in 1998, followed by several concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Comme beaucoup d'artistes arabes, il parfait son art au Caire puis au Liban, où une forte médiatisation contribue à bâtir sa notoriété. Il effectue des tournées partout dans le monde — Monde arabe (dont une tournée en Palestine), Europe, Amérique, Australie ou encore Corée du Sud — et se produit dans des salles comme l'Olympia à Paris et l'opéra du Caire. Il se fait également remarquer par ses prestations et conseils lors d'apparitions à la Star Academy Moyen-Orient, et intègre le jury de The Voice Ahla Sawt avec Sherine Abdel Wahhab, Kadhem Saher et Assi Al Hillani.
